2024/25 Charly Alcaraz

You bracketed it but you know its nowhere near 17 games. He's started 6.
In that position where we struggle so much a better stat would be he's had 649 minutes on the pitch and directly assisted 3 goals.
Doucoure has had 2,563 minutes on the pitch this season and assisted 2 goals.
The assists argument against Alcaraz is flawed too when you see how many he could/should have had if our players could finish better.

He has done enough to get close to 10 assists already, if not more.

"Sean Dyche is the third greatest manager in my lifetime" 🥴

….definitely the 3rd best achievement from a manager in my lifetime, I think him keeping us up given all that was going on was extraordinary.

I fully stand by the thread and reasoning I gave for that view ;) Seems a lot of posters agreed;

Guaranteed he will be our player, the same happened to Pienaar, He was on loan for what felt like an age, the fans all knew how good he was, He stayed, Alcaraz is deffo staying, he's too good not to. Moyes knows a player.

I like him and think that he's got something different.

However he hasn't shown anything like enough to think that we should be building a team around him as a pivotal attacking midfielder.

At the rumoured fee I'd take a punt but much depends on how deep our budget is and how Moyes intends to play

As I say I hope we sign him but wouldn't be shocked if we passed on the deal.

Is very true. And i had a quick glance at players in teams who have more options, just on assists. All based on minutes on the pitch. You cant just say he's played 17 games as you cant do anything while you are sitting on the bench, which he has for a lot of it.

All prem minutes

Guimaraes. 3,192. 6 assists
De Bruyne. 1,630. 7 assists
Palmer. 3,105 minutes 7 assists.

Alcaraz. 694 minutes. 3 assists.

Give him the minutes of the above players and he's up there with the same assists imo. And look at the sides they play in options wise.

Theres a player there for Everton behind a main striker over the season that isnt going to cost a fortune. Its a no brainer to me.

He is an improvement on what we presently have but he is no world beater. If he was a world beater he wouldn’t be at Everton and wouldn’t be costing £15 million. I want improvements, I don’t want a boom and bust type of situation, I want to see something built, something solid. His boy represents steady improvement, he isn’t going to win us a trophy on his own but he could play in a team capable of winning something. Buy him and don’t give him silly wages.
