Homepage Article Goodison Park to become the permanent home of Everton Women

They may have been only doing remedial work prior to this decision, for all the obvious reasons, but there are no moving parts to "run into the ground". If it isn't structurally sound, it won't receive its safety certificate. Evidently it has. The club claimed similar all those years ago, only for it to be then refuted by the very person who actually issues the safety cert.

Just move on pal.

Tom I give up with you. Your sentimental mindset is clouding any sort of sense.

I'll happily provide you with some proof via DM.

Give up with me.....? What's it got to do with me? I haven't made the decision.

Whilst I haven't surveyed any aspect of the stadium in over 20yrs, I also know people who have done since then, including as I said, the person responsible for the safety certification for a number of years.

If you are privy to information that the stadium has been neglected to the extent that it is about to suffer structural failure of any sort, I would be very interested in that information. Tbh, you or your friend should perhaps consider sharing the information with the authorities. However, at the same time you should also consider when your friend was last consulted, and the nature of his concerns, incase any of the outstanding work that he identified has been done since, or is now scheduled to be done in light of this latest decision.

I am aware of a few structural/fabric maintenance concerns from a number of years ago, but as far as I know they were resolved or mitigated against then. If there is anything more current, I would also like to question those concerned at our next meeting with the club in a few weeks or sooner. TIA

Noooooo you're completely out the loop pal.

Yesterday during a broadcast from Goodison Park, Martin Tyler mentioned that there are now plans to put in a museum at the stadium;

Speaking to beIN Sports during the coverage of the Toffees’ win vs Southampton, commentating legend Martin Tyler revealed that he got some inside knowledge of some more plans in place.

“I was talking to a media officer here, and he said they want to create a museum here for special tours, which will also be available for the new generations to visit,” Tyler said.

I think this is a brilliant idea, for me it is what was missing from the stadium tour, they only really show the Cup Winners Cup, the 85 League trophy and one fa cup. I think some people on the tour think thats all we have won!

I would like to see a section dedicated to each team that one a trophy, with a replica of the trophy in the middle and surrounded by pictures of the team, information about the players, replica shirts, etc. Now that the upper parts of the stadium are not going to be used there is plenty of space to do this

You’d better get to work 😜

I have been driving to Goodison for donkeys years and have never had any problems parking within a mile of the ground.
I haven't paid for parking since the days when I was asked "mind yer car Mr.?"
If I can find *on street parking even at a 'full house' game, then I'm pretty sure that nobody will have a problem when the women play. 🤷‍♂️

*Courthope Road/Cranehurst Road way, if you're asking. ;)
Always thought I'd upset residents parking there. For me I always parked on the grass running down the centre of Stanley park ave north. Never a problem for me. Dead easy to get out as well
