2024/25 Beto

Thought he was great today but we do have to remember who he was playing against.

He has shown that he can play well against better defences, over the last few months.

Also, I would say we haven't had a striker taking advantage of poor defences for a while. If we have that in Beto, then that is a start. The way he has played against better defences has shown that there is something to work with for Moyes, if he feels the same and keeps him on.

It would be nice to go ahead and get a top level striker in ready to go, but it is one of the most difficult positions to get right and they are at a premium. If we can get a good striker in for competition then I feel tha Beto has shown that he deserves to be here next season.

Best all round game today, you can tell he and the staff have been working on some things, and it's paying off.

Lad easily gets 15 goals for me next season with better service and more consistent games, it would be lunacy to sell him now.

Made up for how hes come along, he works as hard as any everton forward i've seen, is an absolute nightmare to play against, and scores goals, and will continue to do so.

His technical ability will never be great, but lets not shoot ourselves in the foot by trying to get rid of effectiveness for easy on the eye stuff.

Best I’ve seen him today by far*.

*enormous Caveat that he’s playing against comfortably the worst premier league side I’ve seen in about a decade.

Will take notice when he does that against proper teams and defenders.
He gave the Prem winners and "der best defender in der world " a torrid time .

It's not just agst weaker teams.
We all know his limitations but he has caused problems for any team he's played agst.
Moyes seems to play to his strengths and the lad has took it on board , fair play to him

That's a reach, remember watching him for Marseille and seeing a player lightyears in front of everything around him for and against. Probably the greatest solo forward striker of the PL era. A colossus, and who's work helping his side defend was part of why they were so resolute.

Beto is a 1 in 3 chances striker, we need the burden of goals sharing round a bit more and to be making him far more chances so he gets the taste for it.
I meant more that he didn't really breakthrough as a starter till he was 24/25 and he never looked back...

In no way am I expecting anywhere near the impact of Drogba but he is becoming a bit of a talisman

Great effort today unfortunately two disallowed goals but worked really hard and has good pace. I wish it had been the other way around for DCLs effort as I think Beto may have finished it off.To top it all off he made a series of great defensive headers. A few months ago if we had a bid for 12 to 15 million I would have suggested selling him but not now he has been a big part of Evertons revival.

My favourite Beto moment yesterday was when we had that break and I think it was Gana on the ball.

The pace Beto started moving at was frightening as he started to break, this was after playing around 80 minutes and he was outrunning everyone to make a chance happen.

Then, when he got played in he realised Dom was in a better position and tried to play him in with a decent first time ball completely unselfishly.

That is a man working his arse off for the team, not just for his own stats. Love him!

It's a footnote to what happened yesterday, but despite him not managing to stay onside for the two offside goals, I think he had his best game in an Everton shirt yesterday. Maybe some context required about the level of opposition, but it was the first time in open play he's looked like an actual footballer.

Still, I'd rather twist and let him leave this summer, but I am beginning to think Moyes values him.
