2024/25 Abdoulaye Doucoure

Hard to complain about the effort he has made since he's been a blue. The ball sitting period was clearly a reflection of the relationship with Frank. Stepped up with some big goals at times and can be a handful but he is limited. Today he was the weak link in a number of attacks.
The ball sitting period 😂
Make that a section on his Wikipedia page

…of course he has but we don’t do well without him.

A manager like Moyes is in the points business, he generally selects Doucoure and chooses between Ndiaye and Alcaraz. He does that because he thinks it’s his best chance of winning. Seems odd to non-professionals like us but he clearly has a strong view that Doucoure is important for the balance of this team.
He is over the hill end of .... never worth 120 grand a week ....glad he is leaving we have a lad at derby who can play better than him .....

My gut thinks he’s staying. If so, it’s not the worst thing in the world. We just don’t have the finances to overhaul everything. Moyes clearly rates him. He’s still got stuff left in the tank. But he’d have to be willing to take a pay cut. And that is probably a sticking point for him. So who knows where it ends up.

Worth keeping for another year as an option, especially so with the amount of squad rebuilding needed.
3 goals and 2 assists all season….from playing behind the striker. His current wage is of no value to the club, we need to look forward and stop accepting mediocrity. He was ‘okay’ in a substandard team, we are looking to move on and he should play no part in it. His time here is hopefully done.

Like it or not, we are not overhauling an entire squad over night. Moyes will definitely be wanting him here next year.

I really liked how clearly emotional he was when subbed, it completely removed the bad taste his podcast interview left

Hopefully that means I can wish him all the best as he inevitably goes to Saudi to make bank and next season we’re starting Alcaraz or better in that role behind the striker

I don’t think anyone would have the audacity to wave goodbye for so long if they thought they might stay.

We were 2-0 up against Bournemouth when he came on in the 83rd minute…
