Wake up? what’s sleep? Ain’t slept a wink. 😜

First time I can remember feeling nervous about a footy match but not because of the match itself, really weird.

Obviously I want us to win, but I’ve hardly thought about the actual game, it’s been everything else about Goodison that’s filled my head, that’s all the really matters.

Thank God (and Davie) that were safe and there’s no real jeopardy to the game today, I think that world have been unbearable.

Also, the women staying has really helped me deal with leaving Goodison, even though I’m still a mess. 🤣
I’m not sure I could have even gone today or what state I would have been in if she was getting by bulldozed.

See you soon Goodison, I love ya and I’m gonna miss ya. 💙💙💙

From the moment the planning permission was announced, I’ve been dreading this day. No ticket but I’ll be at the ground from half 9ish to soak up one last pre match atmosphere. I’ll hang around until I hear the siren and Z-Cars and then try and find space in a pub to watch it.

38 years of attendance at the old girl and I can still remember every match I went to. No one can ever take away my memories, I’ll be taking them with me to Bramley Moore where they’ll be added to by our new chapter.

If you’re in there today, stay until they have to force you out.

UTFT!!

I think I've slept about four hours at most, but it wasn't restful at all. Still, I was up like a flash as has my lad; we're having a full-English, and then on our way.

My wife called me a heartless barstool last night (she meant, I show very little emotion), but she knows today I'll probably be an emotional mess by 12pm.

It's not about the football. It's about the very fabric of what Goodison means: the good times and the bad times; the routines; the smells; the friends made and lost.

It's the very last time that we will all sit together as a group, and that's what worries me the most. Today, Nil satis nisi optimum needs to ring true.
