New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

All things considered it’s a reasonable name that sounds like it could actually be the name of a stadium

It’s not like it’s something ridiculous like the names we have here in the states like TD Ameritrade stadium or soon to be Tesla Stadium probably or Everton Stadium broight to you by Budweiser

It actually doesn’t sound bad all thjngs considered

And we’re getting paid a fair wage

If it is indeed that. That is half a mill per month just to have your name up in lights on the stadium. It beats Arsenal’s reported sponsorship (not sure how long ago they agreed that) so whilst we all would have loved more (and I am sure the club would have as well) it wouldn’t appear too bad.

It's £10m pal.

New song for the Dickinson Hill Stadium from the album ‘Big Willie Style’:

On your mark ready set let's go, dance floor pro
I know you know I go psycho (Woo)
When my new joint hit, just can't sit
Gotta get jiggy with it, ooh, that's it
Now honey honey come ride, DKNY
All up in my eye, you got a Prada
Bag with a lot-a, stuff in it (Ugh, ugh, ugh)
Give it to your friend let's spin, everybody lookin' at me
Glancin' the kid, wishing they was dancin' a jig
Here with this handsome kid, ciga-cigar
Right from Cuba-Cuba, I just bite it
It's for the look, I don't light it
Illway the an-may on the ance-day oor-flay (Haha)
Give it up jiggy make it feel like foreplay (Woo)
Yo my cardio is infinite, ha-ha
Big Willie style's all in it

Gotta just embrace it..

Gettin' jiggy wit it
(Na na na na na na na)
(Na na na na na na
)

God lord this was posted at 7:30am, what time did you start drinking?

I found a way to make everyone feel better about the name.

From 1951-1973, Bill Dickinson served as club secretary. I read somewhere that Harry Catterick credited Bill with teaching him the ins and outs of football administration.

Metaphorically, the stadium is a hill built upon the water’s edge, and you can tell yourself that Hill Dickinson is a poetic nod to Bill Dickinson.

It’s not, but it does start to sound better.

As for what to call it, the sponsorship will change in a few years, so the official name doesn’t matter much. I’m sure folks will continue to call it Bramley-Moore Dock, or maybe just “the Dock.” I wouldn’t be surprised if the club eventually started saying “(Sponsor) at Bramley Moore Dock.”

I have to say this perfectly represents my opinion.

A name is a name only for commercial reasons. It doesn't embarrass me, in fact I am embarrassed for the ones that are getting angry over this. As you said, it really is not worth the outrage. If you don't like it then fair enough, but shrug your shoulders and get on with your life.

I also like it over some of the big names, that have been mentioned.
It's a bit weird to me reading so many people saying things like "I wish it would've been Toyota," when...
There are six different "Toyota Stadium"s in existence (at least one of which is another football ground with some connection to the Friedkins), two "Toyota Field"s, four "Toyota Center"s, and two different stadia formerly known as "Toyota Park."

There is - and likely will be - exactly one Hill Dickinson Stadium in existence, ever. And it's a perfectly fine name that only media types will ever really use on a day-to-day basis.

I must say that I'm finding a lot of the reaction over the name to be very over the top...

It's a local, very old business that I would've thought the vast majority of local fans would've been familiar with? why the jokes? 🤔 strikes me as incredibly immature behaviour...
