anyone remember Ashburton Grove?

thats what Arsenal’s ground was called in all the build up

no one’s called it that since 2006

it will be known as the Hill Dickinson

it’s so bad
Exactly. Mr Grumpy doesn't realise the stadium has never officially been known as Bramley Moore. Only while it was built.

It's now been officially named and the first name is the Hill Dickinson Stadium . Those places he mentioned, Reebok, Echo etc, where the first sponsor names. No one remembers the names while they were being built (kings dock arena etc)

the club will backtrack on this

they’ll put a new name down to a vote

it’ll get hijacked and we’ll end up with Stadium McStadiumface

New branding.

They’re annoyed that it isn’t a gigantic brand that doesn’t get much value out of a stadium sponsorship. Everyone knew this was coming.

Same as Castore.

If they're paying us most, then i dont care.

We could have Toughsheet, leasing Cars, Tony Macaroni Arena...

As it goes its a reputable Law Firm, and Evertons First years in the stadium, will be sponsored by a local company, which i think is awesome.

Is the reason everyone is annoyed because of DICKinson?

Jesus Christ.

Did it rime warp 30 years into the past for Primary School again?

Surely there's other reasons 😂😂
There are. The blatant middle-class homosexuality of that name is too much to swallow.

I don’t think the penis related jokes help. A local legal firm calling it the Hargreaves Robertson stadium would still have irked those who thought we would get the Mr Beast Apple Amazon Bloomingdale’s Stadium, but wouldn’t have been as bad and the msm and other fans would have just shrugged.

But there isn’t an Evertonian alive that has known anything other than our home having its own name based on nothing other than the road it was built along. This is a first. Our new home is named after whoever offered the most cash. It’s the new norm. No different than the fact that a pie will be £2 more in the new gaff. It’s the price of keeping up with the mess that sport has become.

Small mercy that Goodison never became the MFI Stadium.

At least there is a genuine link between the sponsor and the area. They aren’t dodgy tycoons blagging they have money. And while it doesn’t sound very cool, it’s better than some Guatemalan online poker website.

Money in the coffers to give straight back to Young, Coleman, Doucoure, Harrison, Keane, DCL, Broja and Lindstrom on new deals while letting Gana go.
Keane getting 3 years at increased wages is particularly punchy so it’s a smart move to cover all that outlay. Well in Jimmy and David.
I must have missed that press release 🙄
