Of course it's possible to sign 8 players in one window, but how do you think team would perform then? 8 players to try and integrate whilst the fans want improvement.

Sign 8 players and possibly struggle near the bottom again.
Be more pragmatic and rise up the table.

I could understand what you're saying if the players out of contract weren't a mix of ancient, useless or both. Letting Coleman, young, keane, doucoure and dcl go isn't going to hold us back at all. Laziness and sticking to what's had us nearly getting relegated will.

Why are you acting like it would cost an arm and a leg to find more useful players than a 36 and a 39 year old?

There are going to be hundreds of players that could possibly fill this role for reasonable value for money.

Just signing the players we have here today is laziness and nothing else.

Miracles? A new full back? That we've needed for years now? I knew our expectations had got really low but calling requests for basic squad needs "miracles" is hyperbole in extremis. If not, and you think we should sign a RB, like anyone with eyes, then why are we resigning Young and, apparently, Coleman?

Yes it's the typical lazy response from people who are happy with the status quo "Well what would YOU do?"

It doesn't invalidate any of the criticism, it just puts the onus on me to throw names out in a pointless exercise.

I've got this remarkable ability to be concerned about other areas on the pitch and still fume about back up players too. They're not mutually exclusive positions to take.

I've made a prediction on how it is likely to go based on the strong evidence of us signing 36 and 39 year old players to new contracts.

I think it's more than fair to suggest that announcing we are looking to sign 36 and 39 year old players to new contracts is going to correspond to an immediate lowering of my expectations for this upcoming window.
