Just read somewhere Leaving goodison is like getting divorced
The woman get to keep the house
The woman get to keep the house

Reading all the comments it seems a majority think it is a good idea. I agree. I have never been to WHP to watch the ladies. I imagine the crowd make up is similar to what you see on tv. i.e mostly young families.
However I see no mention of the potential impact on attendances of the cost of parking near GP. I pay £10 per home game at a local school and walk a mile or so to the ground. Unless you live in the surrounding streets there is no free parking around GP. I doubt if the club owners have given this any consideration. Do the families who currently attend WHP pay to park?
What has crowd size to do with parking availability? There is no free parking, you have to pay e.g. £10. Ringmaster has answered my question, I.e. apparently nobody pays to park at WHP. My original question remains unanswered, will there be an inevitable negative impact on GP attendances due to car parking fees charged by local businesses/schools? I don't know how much people pay as the average ticket price at WHP.The attendance will be pretty low - so parking wouldn't be too bad in the area i assume.
It's free to park on Walton Hall Ave. outside WHP but £5 /£10 on the car park on Everton match days. At Goodison there is very little free parking as you say . With smaller crowds though it will be easier to get on the Bingo car park and I guess the Park End will be available too.Reading all the comments it seems a majority think it is a good idea. I agree. Quite a lot surely? The more people there are the more difficult it would be to park, and the more businesses are likely to charge for parking. Smaller crowds should mean it's easier to park and there may not be same the premium on paid parking around the ground because of supply and demand. What has crowd size to do with parking availability? Indeed but in the end it will all come down to money and no matter how you dressing up the stadium as it is will be a massive drain on resources, however I would love to be proved wrong and see it remain in so.e capacity but I really can't see it.Tasteful? It's one of the most iconic and recognisable stadiums in world football.
It can readily become a world class working heritage stadium and museum and comfortably accommodate all of the women's team's needs for years to come.
Gladys and lower bullens are newer concrete, so leaving the uppers closed wont be a problem. All for the women's team getting a stadium but goodison costs millions to keep it standing, unless they completely remodel the other stands apart from the park end I don't see how this makes sense?
Did they deem the goodison legacy project too expensive?
I have been driving to Goodison for donkeys years and have never had any problems parking within a mile of the ground. What has crowd size to do with parking availability? Isn't Hampden Park the home of Queens Park? It's a 40k stadium though. Easily bigger than any other women's ground. Obviously it will be redeveloped in time, but if it's a hand me down it's a pretty good one.
My daughter is a bit too young at the moment but if they're still there in a year or two I'd take her to a game there. I think that's great.
My sister and nephew have been going to women's games for years. It's a great introduction to the game. Inclusive and generally good vibes.

Maybe shut off the top balcony ?
Wow!! A group of 3 of us have been paying £10 per game in a Kirkdale school for many years. When I chose to go separately on two occasions a few years ago and parked on the street by a park also in Kirkdale on Tuesday nights, I got done approx. £35 by the council on both occasions. I appealed by phone that there were no warning signs, but was refused on the grounds of "special local byelaws" applicable on match days within a certain radius of the ground. You must be parking further out or just lucky not to be caught.I have been driving to Goodison for donkeys years and have never had any problems parking within a mile of the ground.
I haven't paid for parking since the days when I was asked "mind yer car Mr.?"
If I can find *on street parking even at a 'full house' game, then I'm pretty sure that nobody will have a problem when the women play.
*Courthope Road/Cranehurst Road way, if you're asking.![]()
There are no parking restrictions there (apart from the ones who put their wheelie bins out to prevent you parking in front of their house) I have always parked there ever since I've been driving. In fact my Uncle used to park there back in the 60s.Wow!! A group of 3 of us have been paying £10 per game in a Kirkdale school for many years. In those days there obviously wasn't as many cars on the road and we always parked in exactly the same spot in the Cul-De-Sac. In recent years the Streets do get packed, but provided you're not leaving it to the last minute you would find a space somewhere in one those Streets.
BTW it's about 15 Min walk at most.
A bit late for you now that we're moving to BM![]()
