What's the female equivalent of a floppy park end da?
Sad to see there are still some demeaning , short sighted views on women’s football.
I am really pleased that our owners are pioneers and are passionate about the heights the women’s game could and should reach and want Everton to be leading the way.
Yeah I must admit, the desire to paint the club basically saying 'Do you want this hand me down stadium that we've decided is massively outdated and no longer fit for purpose' as being some sort of revolutionary forward thinking idea that shows a massive commitment to the women's team is a bit strange.I doubt they care tbh.
This is just the best, cheapest option for the moment that could bring in revenue in the short to mid term whilst they figure out what to do with it long term.
Would be great if this is the start of some sort of women's football revolution where they're getting 20k attendances every week, but it won't be.
If they want our womens team to lead the way then it will take a lot more than playing at goodison as they're pretty rubbish.
It's a 40k stadium though. Easily bigger than any other women's ground. Obviously it will be redeveloped in time, but if it's a hand me down it's a pretty good one.Yeah I must admit, the desire to paint the club basically saying 'Do you want this hand me down stadium that we've decided is massively outdated and no longer fit for purpose' as being some sort of revolutionary forward thinking idea that shows a massive commitment to the women's team is a bit strange.
I'm not saying it's not a good thing, but it's not really some majorly pioneering thing putting women at the forefront and pretending it is is a bit weird. Saying the women could play at the new ground or building a new smaller stadium for them would be much bigger statements than doing what they've done, I don't really think there's much argument to be had about that. Like I say though, that doesn't stop it being a nice thing in it's own right. It's a 40k stadium though. Easily bigger than any other women's ground. My daughter is a bit too young at the moment but if they're still there in a year or two I'd take her to a game there. I think that's great.
My sister and nephew been going to women's games for years. It's a great introduction to the game. Inclusive and generally good vibes.
Dont think you are giving them enough credit mate, look at what they have done for Roma women.I doubt they care tbh.

Talk of reducing capacity though, therefore reducing the loads imposed on said columns. Competent structural engineers should be able to come up with cost effective remedial measures should they be deemed necessary.Yes. It's an ancient stadium and cost millions a year to keep it standing.
Also know a civil engineer who's been contacted for works a few times.

The Girls have had literally no money for a long time and players bought/signed were from players sold and wages saved, before the new people came. They have made a lot of difference since they have came already, with a lot of new staff about to be brought in for the Girls for a start that they have'nt had before, with Sorensen and assistant Neligan basically doing all other jobs themselves. Sorensen basically does all the scouting himself - which i think he may stil doDont think you are giving them enough credit mate, look at what they have done for Roma women.

Anyone who parked in the actual WHP Car Park on the Girls Games had to be on list. Otherwise it was park in the Main Road, etc, or if you had any sense, park the other end of the park in a car park (Blackthorne Road) by the bridge that was a few mins away - with not many it ever seemed ever using itReading all the comments it seems a majority think it is a good idea. I agree. I have never been to WHP to watch the ladies. I imagine the crowd make up is similar to what you see on tv. i.e mostly young families.
However I see no mention of the potential impact on attendances of the cost of parking near GP. I pay £10 per home game at a local school and walk a mile or so to the ground. Unless you live in the surrounding streets there is no free parking around GP. I doubt if the club owners have given this any consideration. Do the families who currently attend WHP pay to park?
