Sunday is massive. The guys have played there since like forever. It deserves the goodbye it will get.

It is brilliant that Goodison will remain, great for the womens team, great that fans can still go along to the ground.
Its amazing when you think back to when we were told that we`d to move to Kirby because the stadium couldn`t keep its safety certificate only 15 or so years ago.

I wasnt set on the Women's team playing at Goodison, then I read a post about a Dad, who has a young daughter. She knew about Goodison, and what it meant to her Dad and Grandad, and how it was upsetting to them that they'd not be able to go anymore.

Anyway, he told her that the Everton Women were making it their home, and the young girls immediate response was, with tears in her eyes "So, I can play there". And I was sold. Its opened up the core of Everton, and the desire tk be a part of its beating soul to countless others, amd Im all for it now.

Its bold, I'll give them that. Its an extremely ambitious project and I'm delighted that Goodison will live on. I just hope the club markest this well and it takes off. With the designs the club have shown for the reduced capacity it still looks like close to 25k plus capacity. Its going to take work and good marketing to get those numbers and keep them.

Is our announcement the start of others following suit, with the possibility that the outlook on the women's game is growing pace?

Just seems pointless to me. 38k stadium that’s only ever going to get a few thousand in. Would have been better flattening it and creating the women their own version of Goodison. Like a 10k stadium with all the mod con’s.

This is what it means and why it’s bloody brilliant.

My 11yo daughter’s reaction was similar, a few less tears, but she’s overjoyed the girls are getting Goodison.

She has been lucky enough to be the mascot for the women at wally hall park, and the players and staff were amazing with her, the fans are great, it was a brilliant day, and everything would have be even better at GP.

She’s asked can we go to games next season or even get a season ticket for the women, I’m very tempted and will definitely be going to a few women’s games next season.

I think it’s a game changer for Everton women and the women’s games as a whole.
This illustrates perfectly how Goodison can live on and not just as some old relic.

Hopefully the women's team in their new home can inspire more of our blue girls like they have your daughter.

Well done Everton.

The new rules state the capacity has to be a minimum of 5000, with 2k seated. If others are playing on grounds like WHP then they'll need to upgrade/try to rent a lower league ground.

I don’t get all the talk of completely reconfiguring the stadium and rebuilding stands.. will cost a fortune for no reason.

They will close the top tiers, put banners there or what have you. And they will try and attract more fans - it’s pretty much the fastest growing sport in the country, why would we permanantly cut capacity and take away the USP that we have.
Very prophetic mate
