"Everton That" moments

The Palace game was a crucial game. We'd won at Sunderland after the Arsenal game and then had Palace at home. We effectively handed the top 4 place to Arsenal that night. This is from Wikipedia

Everton beat Champions League rivals Arsenal 3–0 at home in a performance manager Martínez described as tactically perfect. The result left the side a point behind the fourth placed Gunners with a game in hand. A seventh successive league win for the first time since 1987 followed with a 1–0 victory over Sunderland which moved the club into fourth place. It also took them to 65 points, the highest total Everton have ever amassed in a Premier League season. The club then handed the initiative back to Arsenal in the race for Champions League football as they lost 3–2 at home to Crystal Palace.
I remember that, wasn't that the game that was postponed from earlier in the season because of high winds? Martinez got done by Pulis that night with his mantra 'set pieces aren't proper goals so we don't practice them' well Roberto they do and it cost us big time

Arsenal had won the night before we played Palace. They actually won all 5 of their remaining games after we beat them against mid & bottom half opposition. The odds are we still would have failed to catch them even if we had beat Palace. We were even worse at Southampton with 2 early ogs.

We lose 5-0 to newly-promoted Leeds on BMD's inauguration. Pickford has a sulk by the goalpost at HT instead of going in. Gnonto scores four times. Then Dan Friedkin morphs into a lobster and jumps into the mersey, never to be seen again.

Everton that.
