Homepage Article Goodison Park to become the permanent home of Everton Women

I don’t get all the talk of completely reconfiguring the stadium and rebuilding stands.. will cost a fortune for no reason.

They will close the top tiers, put banners there or what have you. And they will try and attract more fans - it’s pretty much the fastest growing sport in the country, why would we permanantly cut capacity and take away the USP that we have.

It was initially thought to be a keepsake of a stadium which no longer exists though, it is a bit different if the stadium is still going to be there. I would guess that my seat isn't literally the same piece of plastic as when I first sat there, it's likely been replaced at least once. Any appeal of buying it would have been for the memory of that space rather than the physical seat itself, it's a fair point that if you can actually just go back and sit in that space again whenever you want the keepsake becomes a little less special.
Why…its still a nice keep sake. Goodison going to re-designed so lot of older seats will naturally bechanged

It was bought as a keepsake of an ending, not just an end of a chapter.

Don't get me wrong I think its great we are keeping Goodison and I understand the reasons why the mens teams is off to BMD but tbh I wish we weren't moving at all.

It is a growing sport but as the crowds increase I don`t think they`ll want to be viewing the match from a lot of the poor views in the Bullens and Gwladys street stands. Leaving Goodison as it is for the next few years gives the owners a chance to put together a redevelopment proposal that best suits the ladies in 4 or 5 years.

Great to hear that Goodison is staying around, although a few people on Facebook feel that the big goodbye on Sunday will be an anticlimax as such now.

I would be inclined to agree we were building ourselves up emotionally for the big goodbye, but even though the mens team are leaving Goodison is still staying around.

Still though i'm glad that Goodison Park will continue to exist as a sporting venue.

They didn't want to commit to the legacy project which was funded via the immense wealth of Usmanov.

This is a delay tactic before they decide what to do with the site.

In the last few seasons I often thought it was the team we were fielding

Paddock only probably and Park end/lower main stand. Screen off the rest unless needed.

I very much doubt it .
They have very publicly committed to the womans team playing at Goodison as a statement of
intent.
Reneging on that declaration of intent would reflect badly on their trustworthiness.
