what is it with Everton fans and the lovin for absolutely awful players, "Let's give Keane another contract "

He will play on Sunday due to Moyes falling for thinking he can do a job and he played well last game v Fulham, but that's what Keane does 1 good game then 5 bad ones.

Last ever game at Goodison Park and Keane messes it up, but hey lets give him a new contract because he is a nice chap.

A player that make other players worse, same with Doucoure. We have to move on from them because it's not good squad depth.

Closing the gap between our bench and first team is the biggest job, and I'd rather look elsewhere than whatever he's served up the last 8 years.

I can't believe how many otherwise sensible posters are on this thread trying to convince themselves that re-signing Michael Keane is a good idea. We've all seen him, he's calamity itself in human form. If he's still here in July then the new regime is just the old regime with American (and Scottish) accents.

Maybe they are, maybe they aren’t, but are they worse than Keane?

People were saying Jake obrien was crap because dyche just wouldn’t pick him.

We will never know what we have got if they never play any 1st team minutes.

Dixon did ok in a few games and was then jettisoned out of the squad, it’s just stupid.

Sadly Moyes is above all a pragmatist, like most managers, so Keane will play our final game at Goodison - I just hope he has one of his better days.

Personally, I’d take a young, eager cb from the academy over a busted flush like Keane any day.

I personally agree. But if they aren’t even making the bench when we have no other cbs then that kind of goes against the Moyes pragmatist approach because the cover then isn’t there.

And to be fair, he had an allright game on Sat. So don’t really want to jump on him after that. Let’s hope he finishes the season strongly and we can say goodbye on a positive note.

Yes, Keane scored at the weekend but I remember all the other terrible performances and the effect he has on others.

Time to let him go.

I don't think it is more important personally.

If they are a good talent then yeah maybe, but if they are not ready then they are better to go at their own pace.
