Phobias

Hearing the rattle of a snake, looking down and realizing it's 2 foot away, coiled up and looking ready to strike all whilst knowing you're in the middle of the Navajo Nation and likely a min of 4 hours away from getting to a hospital if you get whacked. Desert hiking, innit...the Aussie's will know what I mean. I was 20; and very lucky I was good at the high jump.

….the Grafton on West Derby Rd was a bit like that for 20 year old lads. Needed to know directions to the Seaman’s Mission for your antivenom ;)

Was in a fairly good hotel last month and getting into a lift the doors closed immediately pinning my arms to my side. Had to push hard with my elbows against the doors to free myself. So ya since that I don't trust buttons, sensors etc
No, it's less rational than that .... its buttons on clothing. Ugh!

Had a friend in college who kept a can of bug spray, then kind that reaches 10+ ft, just for spiders.

Myself, I'm terrified of

Especially the splattering on the ground part after the fall.

Same here, even watching stuff on telly where they’re climbing up cliffs, BASE jumping etc, I can feel my stomach churning and panic setting in.

Bizarrely, doesn’t affect me one bit when I’m running and I run in some high places in Cumbria / Wales etc.

Heights. Sorry, but nope. I used to have to fix antenna at sea, atop masts on a swaying ship. Did not like. Would not recommend.

Officialdom. Not a phobia, per say, but red tape bureaucratic type stuff, like visa interviews, border points, walking through the customs area, going for my residency card, that sort of [Poor language removed]. Hate it.

I dunno what it is but every time I go through customs and the like I feel like I have about 15kilos of heroin in my bag and start to sweat, over react, over think and walk funny when in reality I have a few boxers, socks and a toothbrush in it.

You wouldn't enjoy a brain MRI. Had one when I originally went in to hospital. Guy who was running the machine said he's had Navy SEALS who couldn't hack it. I believe him.

Yeah, done that and I can see how it would drive some insane. It was really difficult and uncomfortable and none of those things trigger me. Well, maybe the incessant loud clacking and buzzing could, if it happened more often.

I don't mind the view and have always been comfortable in airplanes, but it's the edge that gets me. Grand Canyon was absolutely stunning and terrifying all at once.

Watched a video last night of a fella free climbing a crane over Dubai. My palms got very sweaty watching it
