...but they dont give a flying one about Heysel.

Strange indeed.

They were never made to, that's why. They got banned for one more season than every other club got banned for. One more season.

They got off with it pretty much scott free when you consider the 'punishment' meted out to others. They got a 20% 'tariff.' An absolutely appalling way to mete out 'justice' and it still amazes me to this day that it didn't lead to lawsuits.

As for this stuff with Arnold, it just highlights how deluded they actuaaly are. The YNWA bollocks just translates to 'if we like you and you play well for us, and only leave when it's right for us then we'll get behind you'. So yeah, they're pretty much just the same as supporters of any other club.

Not sure why anyone is surprised he ran down his contract in order to leave.

Liverpool have a big recent history of preventing players who want to leave for bigger clubs from going.
They had 3 players running down their contracts this year, VVD , More Salad and TAA. They got taken to the cleaners with new deals for two players in their later years of their careers and let a young player that they could of had in their starting XI leave for free. There`s been a few examples of them letting player go for nothing, Owen and Stevie Mc, and a couple that they moved on for big fee`s, Coutinho went for silly money and a couple of players who made an odd appearance were sold to lower clubs, Brewster to Sheffield and there was another to Bournemouth that I can`t think of.
