The Sound of Freedom.
Based on a true story, an American law enforcement officer, uncovers a massive paedophile ring operating on the US/Mexico border, that is kidnapping children of both sexes and selling them on in South America.
The film follows the investigation and the efforts to save the children / smash the operation.
It’s not a bad film, but ultimately falls flat, due to there being no conceivable way to show what the children went through, without causing outrage.
The film skirts around the parts that would’ve been horrendous, to watch, which I fully understand, but it affects the storyline and it makes it feel a bit flat.
A worthy effort.
I thought the same. I remember the hoo haa leading up to its release, the way there were rumours it was to be bamned for some.reason.. and it loosley pointing the finger at hollyweird as an example, not that i saw that in the film.
Couldve been so much more, but for the horrific nature of the subject matter.
Its similar in scope to whistleblower released probs 15yrs ago, more centred on a police / security woman played by Rachel Weizs. The subject of people trafficking utterly horrendous it goes on like this, in this day and age. The way she was hung out to dry also. Crazy
An excellent film, in my opinion.
