2024/25 Charly Alcaraz

Hes physically made for the premier league. Hes quick, strong, and embraces contact. I think its interesting to note he was instrumental in all 3 goals today, for vastly different reasons. The first one was an aggressive interception that earned our throw-in. The second was that shoulder charge of the defender to shepherd the ball out, to earn the corner we scored on. The third was the quick break and pass. Instrumental in the big things, and "small" things.

he’s so much more physical than doucoure, doucoure is taller and could probably bench press more but in terms of actual in game strength and physicality Alcaraz is superior

needs a goal in front of the gwladys next week. cue chants of sign him up

another assist for Beto today, the pair are great at linking up. shame we’ve not seen it so much

the clause has hampered us, i found it frustrating but do understand Moyes not wanting to trigger it off the bat

it may also be that we need to wait till after 1st July to spend cash, so might have been a directive from above to not trigger it

Strangely, there are still some people out there who remain 'not convinced' by a £12 million deal for Alcaraz-despite the fact we’d struggle to find a similar player, who's a natural 10 with Premier League experience for that kind of money.

Moyes has always been meticulous when it comes to thoroughly assessing a player before making a move, the fact he's started the past 2 games though signals to me he at least likes him. For his age and ability, 12m is a no brainer.

I am mystified by Moyes comments on him. Even after assisting and getting the corner leading to Doucs goal, Moyes looks like hes getting this bad taste in his mouth every time hes mentioned. Very odd. His goal involvements pr minutes played must be much better than our other attackers i would think. Hes the only one to assist goals at a fairly consitent clip, other than maybe McNeil.

Echo announced it as 9 starts to trigger and they have also confirmed the ‘obligation’ to buy can no longer be met (given 8 starts is max he can now get). You’d like to think we we will buy at a price suitable to us, but hope nobody else comes in with a better offer we are unwilling to match.

When he failed to make 9 starts, the obligation turned into an option. No need to negotiate a new price, and no need to worry about another team. He's ours if we want him.

Moyes was meticulous 15 years ago, he's signed quite a lot of overpriced dross since then.

Im hoping that moyes reluctance to overly talk much about charlie, is down to trying to strike a better deal for him, rather than not being interested because he would rather someone like soucek
