2024/25 Michael Vincent Keane

Loved how he demonstrated his lack of ability to keep track of the score when he celebrated his goal.

totally agree

he needs replacing and hopefully we keep hold of Branthwaite, we need 4 CBs ideally

rather than keeping Keane I hope we can bring in a Stones/Holgate/Branthwaite like signing of a young promising centre half from the lower leagues who can slot in when need be, but is primarily there to learn and develop

Slow, ponderous, terrible mentality, ducks under crosses, lunges into tackles, can’t read the game, positional awful.

Because he’s a unit, scores from set pieces and is a nice lad he’s absolutely blagged a top flight career at this club. I was made up when I thought 23/24 was the end of him here after he’s barely played but then Branthwaite goes down this season and he’s back starting games and lo and behold Tarkwoski and OBrien are down and he’s back in the team. Even Lampard tried to get rid of him bringing in Tarkwoski Coady and preferring Mina Godfrey and even Holgaye over him and he’s still somehow here and in the team again!!!

He's defo nowhere near good enough. However, I do think Moyes might be looking at strengthening elsewhere and also has in mind Tarkowski's long term lay off and might think the better of getting rid of a lad who's in the group right now...and can prove useful in the opposition area if not his own.

Never underestimate an ex-CB like Moyes making common cause with another limited CB like Keane.

If he does it’s a black mark on Moyes for me. I’d rather a youth CB got some minutes. It’s just money down the drain. Every member of the squad should be ready to play, he’s not.

We should really be moving on from even Tarkwoski. We need pace in the back 2. I’d be running Branthwaite and OBrien together form the start of the season and seeing if they can make a first team partnership, then look for two alternatives who both have pace and can play.

Unfortunately some players, who the fans rightly don’t want to stay will stay because of financial circumstances and we can’t replace all of them at once, the mess that has been left by people not fit to run the club will not be cleared up in a hurry.
This is correct. New signings cost more money over and above their wages, and we can't just get 10 in to replace all the outgoings. I'd be fine with keeping him on reduced wages to make up the numbers. There are other areas of greater need.

I would offer him a new contract as backup on signicantly reduced wages. Could see in his performance against Fulham that there is still a player in there but he should only be kept for numbers and in case of injuries, which i doubt he would be happy with at his stage of his career, will probably go to Leeds and be a good option for FPL next season
If he plays v Southampton next week, hand on heart do you trust him?

He is exactly the reason why this club is cursed, he is like a bad smell it just won't go away
