2024/25 Beto

Beto is great when he has space to run into but if we are playing a team who defend deep I think he becomes quite ineffectual. Think he’s done a great job but if we could get £25m plus think I would be taking it & adding it to any money we have to see if we can get an upgrade.

He's crap. How that awful attempt went in is beyond me
🤣 🤣 🤣

Beto took it first time.
It's not easy for a GK to go from a standing position to down on the ground, or reaching down, or even to have the presence of mind in a split second to stick out a leg to block a shot.
It was an excellent opportunist goal, started by Beto on the halfway line holding up the ball, playing the pass, then setting off to be in position to receive the pass and strike first time.

Give the guy some credit. He scores. If a certain someone across the park had done that it would be lauded as goal of the month!

Because he can’t hold it up very well, although he wins his fair share of headers, he’s probably a striker better playing in a front two. But the way the game has gone, that is rarer and rarer to see.

think he’s good as an impact, moments player

nowhere near good enough if we want to push on for top half/europe

his song is absolutely great to sing

This is as high as his stock will be. If we can make a PSR profit I'd be tempted to sell but equally I'm happy with him as an impact sub but one thing is for sure , we desperately need a starting No9.

You may be correct, but I think there is a chance that his stock could further increase.

He was vilified as a donkey by everyone whilst working under a manager that makes Sam Allardyce look progressive. Then a decent manager has come in and he’s suddenly amongst the goals, and could quite easily had a few more with a bit more luck (against the RS and Brentford).

If he does end up getting 10 goals from this half a season, who is to say he wouldn’t get 15 - 20 in a full season under a half decent manager playing something other than the most ridiculous form of hoofball ever seen?

Beto has improved a lot under Moyes, he is ungainly and clumsy looking, but, is always a handful. He looks a much better player when Alcaraz plays, I think he benefits from the fact that Alcaraz has an eye for a forward pass and the technical ability to pick out Beto's runs. I'd probably, on balance, keep him not necessarily as a starter but certainly as a squad player.

Post match of the day interview. Basically said he's at the level of a 19 year old and the 10 goals is "decent". But he's not 19 and he's working hard on his game.

Wasn't a glowing endorsement for our top goalscorer.
I wouldnt mind that
He was glowing about Michael Keane who had a good game
I doubt he'll be giving Keane a new contract
