Remember having a really blocked nose bothering me all week in the run up to a game, once I got in into the ground, I miraculously managed to fish out the offending crusty snot ball and wiped it on some old girl swede.
Glorious days indeed.

Honestly for me also, i still get that buzz when the pitch just appears after walking up the steps.

The sights, the noises, the smell, the whole panorama opening out in front of you.

…it’s not a specific moment for me, it’s general recollection;

Playing school footy on Saturday morning in the 60s and early 70s, off to the match with my dad and uncles in the afternoon. They had a few pints in the Supporters Club on City Road, I had a ST, A80 on front row of Upper Gwladys St to watch the true greats.

It was going up those last few steps from the concourse to see Goodison in all her glory come into sight that will always be my abiding memory. Unforgettable awe and breathtaking view that never diminished no matter how many times I got to the top of those stairs.

Yeah it’s not a specific memory like some have said it’s a feeling I get on a summers day, Z Cars playing and the roar of the crowd as the team come out the tunnel. Just can’t beat them little moments where the hairs on the back of your neck stand up!
