2024/25 Beto

Macca has explained it , this all about amortisation And PSR. You sell a player the profit goes straight on the accounts, you buy and it’s on the length of contract

Selling Pickford for 30mil, could buy us 150mil worth of players, if we put them on 5yr deals
Forget amorisation. We pay for a player and regardless of the the amount of time we have to pay for that player we still have to pay that amount. Pickford at 30m regardless of time we have to pay that fee still equals 30m. We sell for 30m we break even and do not make a profit. We tend to lose on most players when you take wages into consideration but if they have contributed to the cause then that is not taken into consideration. If Pickford has been at Everton for 8 years then we have paid the 30m plus (if averaged at 100k wages) 41.6m wages

That finish today, whilst him not executing it technically great and it was helped by a GK error, was really good. He deliberately took it early to surprise the GK (which I think is why the GK made the error) - a lot of strikers in that position would take a further touch towards goal - he’s a decent finisher.
yep, I was going to say the same, they dont all go in but a fair few have. Play to his strengths and he is worth keeping. I'm just watching the game on catchup and notice that he took a few tumbles during the game to win a free kick. That is something new, he normally tries (too hard) to stay on hs feet but those cheap free were helpful

You can’t forget amortization. It’s what the accounts and therefore PSR are based on.

In the example of Pickford, at this point he is likely a full amortized asset, it’s a gain on the profit and loss statement for the period.

No mate. Simplistic and fact is we buy for 30m and then sell for 30m then we break even on transfer costs. It is that simple. Tell me how we have made a profit or loss.

This a tough one. Hes awkward , falls down to much and cant control the ball but he scores goals and runs all day long and seems to care which is his job. we need to send him on sort of strikers boot camp with big Duncan for the summer and see if his problems can be sorted out… i have been one of his biggest critics on here but like the lad and really hope he can improve !

How can you forget amortisation 🤣🤣🤣 this is how it works and how Everton will be doing their transfer business this summer this is what we’ve been talking about all the night the reason we can sell Beto and a few others to help us improve. You say what you want and think what you want, but it has nothing to do with what I’ve been saying all night.

Beto has started 13 games and scored 8 goals
Illiman 27 and 7 goals
DCL 19 and 3 goals
McNeil 14 and 4 goals

(PL only)
If we had to I would rather pay Beto 100k per week than DCL over 100k per week

Because the expense is in the prior period and the gain would be in the current period. In this example, all of the expense would be out of the PSR calculation and all of the gain would be in it.

At this very moment it’s not cash that constrains us, it’s the PSR calculation

I cannot get through can I? If you pay for something then sell for the same........no loss. If you sell for less then a loss, sell for more then profit. Amortisation has nothing to do with loss and profit of transfers. Your bank balance tells you the truth

PSR has nowt to do with it. If you buy for 30m and then 6 years later sell for 30m how much profit have you made
