2024/25 Beto

They still have to pay the 100m regardless on the size of contract. So if they sold said player for 50m they still make a loss
After 5yrs they would have paid 62.5 mil so would then make money selling for 50
If we sell Pickford this summer for 30mil have we broke even or made 30mil profit

Ignore the efl trophy obviously, you can see Beto has a goal every 166 minutes this season even though we’ve created barely anything and played total anti-football most of this season.

Lukaku scored similarly regularly in a team with some great creative players in.

Why can I not compare these two Everton strikers mate?

You can compare, but one is clearly a far better striker than the other.

Here, I will help you out, seems you too lazy to do it.

Beto, signed for 25m on a 4 year deal, 6.25m a year, 2 years left, his book price is 12.5m.
Garner, signed for 15m, 3.75m a year, 1 year left, his book price is 3.75m.

Selling Beto for 20m, would give us a profit of 7.5m.
Selling Garner for 15m, would give us a profit of 11.35m.

18.85m *profit, spread over a 5 year contract would give us 94.25m to spend on players, for the purposes of PSR.

The above doesnt factor in wages, thus the *profit would be much higher.

The biggest problem with the above would be the almost 70m we would need to find over the next 5 years, not to mention the increased wages of 5 players on 5 year contracts, but hey, PSR is dead easy and im sure somebody will explain it all away.

the end.
Garner was more like 9 mil and yes obviously we will have to pay what we spend this summer for 5 summers, but that’s how it goes and we will probably have to sell players, getting into Europe better sponsorship. We probably sell Branthwaite next summer, which could cover 2 summers of payments???

He has a gammy way of running which skews people’s opinions of him but he is effective and always causes problems and contributes well with chances and goals
That finish today, whilst him not executing it technically great and it was helped by a GK error, was really good. He deliberately took it early to surprise the GK (which I think is why the GK made the error) - a lot of strikers in that position would take a further touch towards goal - he’s a decent finisher.

??????????????? We pay 30m for him we sell for 30m but we make a profit?? Explain
Macca has explained it , this all about amortisation And PSR. You sell a player the profit goes straight on the accounts, you buy and it’s on the length of contract

Selling Pickford for 30mil, could buy us 150mil worth of players, if we put them on 5yr deals
