Love him.

He’s certainly got his flaws, but he does a striker’s primary job, which is more than any other striker on our books does.

As a back up option? I'd probably keep him unless he needs to be sold to fund a quality striker.

Yes I get what you mean, but apparently the club are speaking with DCL . Who knows if this is true and many won’t like it, but selling Beto for 25mil, allows us to buy a 30 mil striker delap? And a 30mil winger . We get nothing for DCL

We need another strong option. Bringing someone in is no guarantee they will bag, look how much the top boys spend trying to find a goalscorer. Beto has proven a great option that scores goals in the PL so be foolish to get rid.

Rom was levels above Beto but he also had a tendency to send a ball flying with his first touch at times.

It's far from ideal and dictates how we have to play when he's on the pitch, but end of the day he's a natural finisher and we're a team desperate for goals. Real handful physically as well in a league where that is massively important.

No idea what wage he's on, but I would imagine it's a much more palatable amount for us to be paying someone who maybe isn't going to be first choice. Certainly in comparison to DCL who I highly doubt would take a pay cut if he was to re-sign.

I'd be happy keeping him, because I know what we're like, and the chances are the new striker won't score because buying strikers who don't score is what we do.

I agree pal, there’s so many folds in this group who think we can sign a prime Drogba. Beto has done well since Moyes has come in. I think we need to keep him at least for next season. For all his flaws he’s a grafter.
