2024/25 David Moyes

Fans will need to see a break from the mould or they’ll turn unfortunately.

I’ve got no doubt whatsoever that we’ll start to put teams away at home that we should be beating, but there will have to be something different to survive long term I think with the fan base. Win at Anfield, go and win at the Emirates, qualify for the CL, win a cup.

As I said, if any other manager came in and took us 8th or 9th in their first season I think he fans would accept that as a season of progress but if Moyes does it, with the caveats mentioned above, then i think fans start getting restless.

Ultimately the days of winning one derby every decade, never winning a trophy, and going multiple decades without winning at certain grounds in front of fans needs to end for this club or the fanbase is just going to get destroyed.

We can’t watch Bournemouth Brentford Palace winning at the Emirates, Anfield, Stamford Bridge etc. yet Everton have to go back to the 90s for their last result.

These runs simply have to end, and end soon, or the fanbase is going to boil over in frustration. That’s the job for Moyes unfortunately whether it’s fair on him or not.

Fortunately we won that Goodison derby recently otherwise that would have been getting on 15 years also. It’s absolutely pathetic. We’ve been a mess at times in that period but also have had sides that have qualified for Europe during that time. The entire club needs to get its act together and start behaving like a proper club.
Sadly Moyse never managed to win these types of games even at the highest point of his last term. Can't honestly see that changing.

Yes, the same five-time winner of the Champions League, Premier League winner, Bundesliga winner, La Liga winner, Ligue 1 winner, and Serie A winner while Moyes was winning the Conference League. And then Moyes walked out of the club after phoning Sir Alex to take the United job.

I mean, don't get me wrong. We won't get Carlo. But Moyes wouldn't lace his boots.
Carlo admitted he wanted the Real job as it is easier to win there. Not the kind of character you need to build a club. He is great at managing big egos though, so perfect for Brazil.

Doesn't matter though, it's horses for courses. Someone like Zidane might not be good for a club in the Championship, for example.

He left when the money dried up, which is what any reasonable manager would do. No one is winning by spending 2 million in a summer transfer window.

Just look at the dross we attracted after he left.

Yup. He quit. And Moyes didn’t do that “when the money dried up.” You can’t have different rules for thee and me.

Me personally I would get rid at the end of the season, for all the reasons that were apparent when he was here for 11 years and bottled every big game.
I dont think its fair to say a manager who took a team from 18th to 4th, numerous Semi-Finals and a Final bottled EVERY big game.

He had his limitations and they indeed will show themselves in time, but the fact is, he left Everton in a better position than every single manager we have had since.

Is that any reason to retain him at Seasons end? No, not really.

But it depends, it depends who plan b is, we will all have our own ideas, I personally dont really care if its Moyes or not, I just want us to not to get it wrong, again.

This is where im at.

The worst thing that can happen is give Moyes 5-6 of his players then fire him in 6-12 months, the next manager comes and doesnt fancy Moyes signings.

Rinse and repeat from the previous ownership, we must not get to the point of stop gap managers again.

Didn’t want Moyes,
Was happy after the first 3-4 games
Then he said “I’m not going to the new stadium till where safe… we where safe 3 games in to his reign, small minded manager, still talking about relegation last week, didn’t see united or Spurs mentioning it

Ange didn't, but he also manages in an alternate universe.

At the end of the day, quotes don't matter, results do.

I don't think Moyes is taking us to the top 4. Then again, we won't be near that for at least another 2 years, regardless of the manager.

We have some good players under contract, but in a way we're not much different from a promoted side who needs to spend big to stay in the league. We have a lot of holes to fill.
