This is the type of deal I can get behind...

Loan for a season with an option that becomes an obligation....
5 mill loan fee, 25-35 to complete...

Option becoming an obligation if he starts 30 games
You'll be happy to pay 40m for a player that will be 30 soon, has lost pace and has become more prone to long term injuries.

Yes let's buy him...

If he's fit, playing regularly and scoring goals then why not?

We'd only be paying if he was delivering on the pitch so sure

Have you learnt nowt after all our financial troubles the past few years? Signing overpriced, aging players with no re sale value crippled us.

The more i think about this the more it shouldn't happen, it will only end in tears.

Absolutely don't sign him for any amount of money, maybe a loan and only maybe.

Way too much. If there is a loan fee of £5m then the obligation fee shouldn’t be more than £18m. They make a very decent PSR profit with that.

Next year he will have £12m amortisation left. £18m gives them £6m profit (as well as £5m this year). It’s a win for both of us if that then happens as they profit and he has played the majority of the season.
