New kit for the last game?

Oh no. I’ve been tricked into buying an imperfect polo shirt, overpriced as we know all club merchandise is, the proceeds of which will in part go towards the finances of the club I love. The unquestionable judgement of others be upon me. What a disaster. How will I sleep at night?
On reflection. Bit harsh. However maybe the club should've done something for the whole season, not a throw away gesture now.

Yes I agree with that. Whilst I don’t think this polo is bad - I reckon it’ll be fine and look good in years to come - but it’s nowhere near the level of commemorative product(s) we should’ve received.
I think the club missed a trick with the home shirt this season.

I don't think they did a great job of selling it as the final Goodison shirt. I know it has some broken up vector bits from the 1920s logo in there, but you'd never know that unless someone told you.

Nothing about it says heritage, history or Goodison Park.

To the point where I've wondered for most of the season whether they'd release an actual final Goodison shirt towards the end of the campaign.

Nope. Just this fan shirt.

The bottom line is the planning for leaving Goodison probably took place before TFG landed. We all know the club was terribly run, so shouldn’t be surprised to see this small raft of mediocre attempts to commemorate the ground. It’s unfortunate timing, but had we not been leaving Goodison - had the carrot of the new stadium not existed - we’d probably be drifting towards oblivion right now.

all this mate ;)

I reckon about ten to fifteen minutes, then it'll be closer to our custom royal blue, starting wherever you sweat.

The timing is very odd, could have done some sort of Christmas gift package thing and take some of the sting out of the quite frankly extortionate price.

Bishing* about ticket prices is going to be, ahem, a bit rich, on the back, ahem, of this...

meh it’s a polo innit

with a badge lashed on

could of atleast brought out the new kit

I was looking forward to this release. I was hoping some sort of replica of the original shirt with the long sleeves, in cotton. Might have gone for that as a keepsake. This though has no relevance to our first game at goodison other than the colour. Dissapointed with the lack of effort by the club after all the other efforts to big up the leaving of Goodison, this seems like a quickly put together rip off which reflects the ethos of our last 30 years more than that of our first 150.
