Not sure you’ve called this right @davek, looking at the relative leagues and their status, I think they stand to make a better return on any investment at Everton than they will at Roma.

For me, they have to make us competitive and relevant on the pitch before they can make any money back, so that means investment in a club and team that’s been on life support for years.
Sorry to say that I think you are wrong because, as @davek has proven time and time again, he is never wrong.

Nothing says big ambitious new regime like hiring a manager we had a decade ago and handing out bumper contracts to strikers with 17 goals in four seasons.

Well now you didn’t say “bumper” before. If he’s getting squad depth money and he’s not going to be leading the front line, then I’d have him. But no way should we be giving him starting #9 money. Someone else can make that mistake.

I've already written it mate in advance.

It's called "we've won the *kin lot" and chronicles the 61 goal season of Beto, having the league wrapped up by Jan, going unbeaten all season and doing the treble.

You can read chapter one "macca hired as manager" on my Patreon channel momoney4macca@mac.com
Uh uh, no way my son. It costs me enough subscribing to your onlyfans!

God bless.

Dan Friedkin is in Rome. He's behind the appointment of Leo XIV. 😁

I got the sense that he's terrified by higher expectations.

The negative preamble to answering such a simple questions was instructive.
I’m not sure he’s frightened of heightened expectations. Anyone that tried to follow Ferguson at Utd won’t be scared of higher expectations. Whether he’s good enough is another matter.

Can he play right back?

He landed in Rome on the way from Zurich to Rimini.

I was right. He's also a Roma fan. This pope is brought to you by TFG.

It needed to be written. That's not my point though. The source of the title rankles. It was a brave decision to go with it.
It’s factual though. I don’t view it as brave for that reason. And the tag line clearly distinguishes that it’s about Moshiris reign, so a specific time in our history.

It’s also likely that 99% of people that buy it will be Everton fans so all are already aware of what’s gone on and the negativity has passed with Moshiri leaving (for most of us).
