Beware Southampton our last game at Goodison.1974/75 season. Everton finished 4th with 50 points (2 points for a win). Derby won the League on 53. Just 4 points off being Champions but we were beaten home and away by the club who finished rock bottom, Carlisle United.
That's one of the clubs biggest regrets had we got kings dock we would be one of the biggest clubs in Europe at this time. This was the moment I realized Kenwright was a charlatan.Losing Rooney was bad for a poor fee this was ten times worse.King's dock
That was Terrible I went to both games but as seasons go 86 was horrible we were by far the best team that season and yet that lot did the double.Losing the league title in 75 by 3 points and still contrived to finish 4th !!
Lost home and away to the bottom club Carlisle United, we were 2-0 up in the home game, win both of them and we'd have been Champions.
Yep! We were still one of the most successful clubs in the 60s 70s 80s and then Johnson but mostly Kenwright ( I don't like to speak ill of the dead) virtually destroyed the club it was the fans who dragged it through the last 15 years.I disagree the modern day Everton that began in the 90s may fit the trend but the Everton that existed before that was a different beast altogether imho.
Well .....BMD either sinking or flooded, proper submerged.
Pretty much any time that commentary mentions something like, 'Everton haven't lost to blah blah for 76 years' or 'blah blah have yet to win away this season' it's a guarantee that they do!! Every single time!We are well known for being an unlucky club and a a club that's run very poorly. So what would be your most Everton moment be? A personal favourite of mine was Richard Wright getting injured at Chelsea by falling on a sign saying not to warm up in that exact place. Another 1 was when a limited amount of fans were allowed back during lockdown and some fella got a seat right behind a post. Another would be doing everything other than getting Danjuma to sign contract and him going to Spurs.
Oh they’ll set the record for the most games without a win at a new ground for sure. I wonder if you can bet on something like thatProbably something crazy next season, despite moving into a new stadium we'll have the best away record and the worst home record![]()
