The State Pension

No, he called me avaricious which I had no need to Google it means being greedy.. I was lucky to never claim unemployment benefit all my working life plus the UK OAP is the lowest in many European countries..
Well I'm fick so I had to look it up. Initially I thought it could have been one of boris' middle names. Lo and behold, it could.

The State Pension in its current format is fast becoming an unsustainable burden on working people. I believe it currently accounts for around 11% of the annual budget and over 50% of welfare spending.

Discuss.
The EU commission reports that, for the EU 27 on average, the state pension costs on average 12,9% of the combined GDP.

It's not really an unsustainable burden as such, but with the demographic decline (also a threat in asia), choices will have to be made. In a nutshell: increasing productivity, immigration or a higher tax to pay for the state pension.

Make everyone of working age pay something, there must be a few million like myself who work under 24 hours a week , especially women who after having a family stay on part time hours, even a quid a week would bring in about 500 million a year

Again, you shoot yourself in the foot. Not a matter of agreeing or disagreeing. It's a case of you making statements that simply are not tenable.

Prove me wrong in what I have said in my posts. And jeez, you MENTION it in your post, and you don't even know what 'means-testing' is! And you think you are not thick, or self-important? Do me, and all of us, a favour. Don't dig a bigger hole for yourself than you already have.
You appear to have become quite personal in your responses to him. I’d suggest trying to be a little more amenable in your responses to the poster and your point may be heard more loudly.

Well I didn't realise any of this. I'll have to check each one (some previous companies I worked for, now not contributing obviously).

Thanks for the info
If you have a number of private pensions then investigate whether it is worth consolidating them all into one pension pot.

Companies like ii(interactive investor) often offer incentives to switch and consolidate.

Check that some of them don’t have valuable benefits attached to them before deciding to consolidate.

I can't so it as they need photo ID as in driving licence or passport and I have neither.
If you do not have photo ID
If you do not have a suitable photo ID, or if you cannot use a device with a camera, you may still be able to verify your identity online. You can try to do this by answering questions about your personal details or any bank accounts, mortgages, loans or credit cards you may have.
