2024/25 Beto

Top goalscorer and people desperate to get him dropped.

It's not his fault Moyes has had him playing with Doucouré and Harrison
He needs to work on things in the off-season as I have said frequently. But you give somebody service, there is a good chance they will score and Beto causes problems. Doucore's positioning was atrocious and caused most of the problems in our attacking play. He just can't cut it in that position anymore.

Was a brilliant header. His touch was so bad twice it was like he passed it when he was trying to control it. Needs to improve that part of his game

I'm confident he gets you 10-15 goals if he's a regular starter, which is pretty much what 20mill gets you for a striker.

I like the lad
I think he gets more if he gets service from a player like Alcaraz, when they've played together there's been instant chemistry, Beto loves to run towards goal off the shoulder and Alcaraz loves to slip a ball through. I wish we'd seen more of this combination this season, but that's the blueprint for next should we struggle to upgrade in these departments.

For all his lack of technique his runs off the shoulder are brilliant and instinctive. He could defi get more, even this season he's hit the woodwork or seen a few good saves against him and still produced good numbers

You know, if he was playing back in the 90s with the 2 strikers combinations like Cole/Yorke, Shearer/Sutton etc, he'd be dynamic running off a Sheringham type player. Football's changed and for the worse imo by playing one striker who spends most of his time back to goal not facing it. Because Beto plays up front on his own, his poor touch and lack of awareness are put in the spotlight.

Would keep him as cover unless there's a really good bid from Serie A.

Would be a nonsense to let him go on season long loan and give DCL a bumper new deal imo as in those circumstances he'd expect to be first choice again.

Beto would fit the backup role much better and sure he'd have a run next season where he's scoring 4 in 5-6 games like when Moyes first came in.

Give him a chance where no touch is required and he's a good player. Fast, aggressive, decent in the air, etc but good Lord he's genuinely the worst I've ever seen in link up play. I like the lad, but there's no reality where he should be here by September 2025
