2024/25 Vitalii Mykolenko

Hes been solid again. Another scapegoat for fans

Honestly mate, open your eyes. Solid against Ipswich at home is one of the main reasons why we are in the mess we are. These are a Championship team and at no point did they feel threatened by anything our full backs offered.

It's so hard to be an effective attacking unit when you resign 7 players in your team to offering absolutely nothing in the attacking third.

Been solid "again" not basing his performances on just today hes been one of the better performers all season.

You can go through every position in the team and say they're not good enough bar Pickford and Brainthwaite. This lads an easy target although hes the most improved player in the squad by a mile.

He's absolutely terrible on the ball and nowhere near good enough for any team other than the ones who are in the relegation mix. It's not about him being an easy target - he's just really bad. He's not even that good defensively in games where our objective is to do anything other than camp on our 18 yard box.

I've previously said in this thread lets not forget where we are. Right now the LB position isnt the main priority. He needs competition thats for sure but theres other areas in the team that need improving before LB

I’d say LB (along with RB) is absolutely a priority. He has had a poor season.

Guaranteed we buy a left back this summer.
Not sure he's ever had a good season, I think he's ok defensively, but only when he can just basically mark somebody out of game such as Saka, Salah and Mahrez. Whenever he's asked to do anything else he struggles and has zero positional sense.

Doesn’t offer much going forwards and key goals in our last 2 home games against City and Ipswich today have come from crosses on his side. Very, very average.
The downgrade in our full backs from Coleman and Digne/ Coleman and Baines to Patterson and Mykolenko is a travesty.

But it's because he can do that job when necessary means he has a place in the squad.

I just threw Chilwell in there, but the idea we can’t sign a better left back is the funny bit @Marius57
Oh, we can do better than Myko. I personally don’t think LB is a priority because I think he does a decent job. But we could obviously improve, certainly offensively.

I just think Chilwell being suggested is funny as he is worse defensively. And for the drop off defensively, I’d want someone better than chilwell going forwards as while he would be an improvement offensively, he isn’t exactly prolific.
