2024/25 David Moyes

The idea of “new eras” is a load of cobblers. It’s football, not some sort of esoteric artistic endeavor. Just media spin.

Whatever about spin, a new stadium and a fairly big overhaul of a stadium just after a clubs gotten through one of the worst periods of it's history is a fairly clear new era.

Be nice to start it with something we haven't already seen 11 yrs of

Which I doubt will happen. The club will offer most of the players new contracts and we will sign Longstaff.

Ha ha I knew the Moyes out loonies would show up today. Same team as Dyche had yet safe with plenty of games to go. Moyes has said more than once we need more quality but STILL people expect him to polish a turd. Get real fellahs
Making it a moyes v dyche thing is just daft though. Moyes is a better manager than dyche and always has been but the fact is we got safe quickly off the back of a new manager bounce and the bottom 3 stopping picking up points at the same rate as they had been. After a great start we’ve gone straight back to very similar levels as we’ve seen under the last 3 managers. We’ve won 2 out of 10 home games since Moyes came, 2 of our last 13 games in all competitions, only kept 1 clean sheet in the same timeframe etc. He’s done fine but the reality is things haven’t actually changed that much. If people were giving dyche protests it’s only fair that they ask some questions of Moyes too, as although he’s clearly made us better to watch etc, the difference in results is starting to level out quite quickly.

I think we swapped one draw specialist for another 🤔
Don’t think Moyes is quite as bad as Dyche on that front, his teams certainly take a bit more risk in the final ⅓, but I think they are both very much don’t lose first types rather than play to our strengths and let them deal with that.

Ipswich are absolute gash and could have and should have been put to the sword today.
Said in the match thread we were unlucky in some respects as there were moments that didn’t fall our way, that felt like we would have capitalised if they had. But it was still press and counter attack type passages.

I felt the line up was sufficiently attacking but the manner in which they went about it less reassuring.

What are our strengths ?

Got the subs wrong today, but we’ve got a squad of puddings tbh. He’s done a great job having us free from relegation so soon after returning, and the players have got flip flops on ever since tbh.

It also looks like Davey will be overseeing the biggest transfer window in our history. Feel ok about that tbh - If he can find us a few new Timmy cahills, artetas, Baines, pienaars or yakubus and maybe a Rooney or two, that would be smashing.

Hoping for no koldrups!
