2024/25 David Moyes

I wonder how much of the definitive improvement is down to Moyes and how much of the incompetence of Dyche is down to the position we are currently in, after all the team is relatively the same. I am also a bit concerned as to how much Moyes will be reasonable for transfers with all this backroom staff been employed.

Small amounts of wee on some sheets after playing all the best teams in the league and perhaps getting put in our rightful place.

Btw my own guess for April’s return was 5 pts and we ended up with 4.

So has much really changed?
He's David Moyes. He won't beat the teams at the top of the food chain, but he'll deliver more points from the rest than anyone has business delivering with his players.

It's why United was insanity. I don't know how SAF didn't get it. I suppose he knew he left a bare larder, but their fans would never tolerate the returns. It was a poisoned chalice, and Davey picked it right up.

Brilliant tactician, never a strategist, gets bounced at O-4 or O-5 for it.

The attritbutes that turned what should have been a funeral into a near triumph at an impoverished Everton - the ability to spot a player and get him on the cheap before improving him significantly - were simply not required at United circa 2013.

Moyes went for vanity (and money). He was never a fit for that job.

Fortunately for him, nobody else has been since, either...

Utd made all the same mistakes we did. Just took them longer to get to the same place we are.

The best thing for them would have been to appoint an Ancelotti to handle some of the egos just after Fergie left and attract top players. Think Fergie’s ego got in the way there when he identified Moyes.

That being said Moyes will do us for now when there is a rebuild job to be done and a need to establish the team further up the table.

Yeah, I think the state of Man U since Moyes has proven his failure was inevitable.

I mean, this is it. Insanity or not, he was never turning the job down. Vanity? You could equally say he backed himself to give it a shot.

The craziness was probably in letting Lord Ferg pick his own successor, if that is truly the way it happened.
It wasn’t just that though, the squad they had in 2012-13 was pretty crap overall and definitely over-achieved in winning the title that year. The slide for them had already started happening it was just masked by Fergusons ability as a manager.
