Non League Football

How does promotion work? I guess the top teams of North, South Central and South East each go up to the premier?
That is the starting point but there is usually some gerrymandering between the Isthmian and Southern Leagues to help some geographic anomalies. Also some clubs might voluntarily drop a division to reduce travel costs etc.

Bury Town FC versus Brightlingsea Regent in Isthmian League North Division tomorrow.

Already a sell out crowd of about 2000, with the visitors bringing 300.

Really good crowd for that level of football, though Bury Town were already best supported team in that league and pushing over 1000 regularly in recent weeks.

Cole Skuse (ex-Ipswich) is manager at Bury Town.

2 thing I’m unsure of is the play offs. Does winning the play off in the Isthmian and Southern Counties league guarantee you promotion? Seems like more teams going up than down.

Generally Promotion is guaranteed but if you are moving up a step in the pyramid your ground must meet the criteria for that step.

Northern Premier League Final scheduled for Bank Holiday Monday.

Stockton Town were informed at midnight that they'd fielded an ineligible player, and they'd be replaced by Guiseley.

So Guiseley have 38 hours from midnight this morning, to prepare for a play off final, sell tickets, organise coaches.

For all the good... there's some incompetence at this level.

After winning their last 14 games, Lower Breck missed out on promotion to the Northern Premier League - West despite accruing 106pts.

They righted that yesterday, just across the road from Goodison, defeating Padiham in the playoffs final, and will join Bury, Bootle in the NPLW next season.

Nice to see City of Liverpool being replaced by a team actually from the city.
