Those proposed gigs at the end of the month that they sent letters to local residents about would've been a great way to give people that chance. But it's all gone quiet, assume they either didn't get the license or decided not to go head to head with Radio 1 Big Weekend, as those dates were mentionedThe hysteria from some fans is a bit much. The amount of crying on social media from people desperate to say "one last goodbye" is ludicrous. They've had years, literally YEARS to have that last little moment that apparently means so much to them. They could've gone to a league cup game or a friendly or a stadium tour or even just a walk around the ground but nah. Its GOT to be that last game and if they can't get in then they just have to be around the place when its happening. Even the pub with fellow blues isn't enough (because God forbid these delicate souls get a bit warm). No, it absolutely has to be an event type of thing for them (which presumably the tax payers will have to pay for) and nothing else will do. I'm sorry but this is proper, entitled, kopite behaviour. Just go and say your last goodbyes without all the drama, nonsense and without causing all the unnecessary chaos please.
Like I said though, they didn't need those gigs. They've had years to do something. Even now they can get themselves a stadium tour as they will apparently continue until well into the summer, or they could just go for a quiet walk around the ground. If none of that is good enough than its entirely the fault of anyone who missed out. Those proposed gigs at the end of the month that they sent letters to local residents about would've been a great way to give people that chance. I went to the FA Cup defeat against Bournemouth. Though I’d hoped to get tickets for a league game after that, other commitments and the scarcity of tickets meant I knew it was probably my last game at Goodison - which is as it has turned out (unless I get outrageously lucky in the ballot). So I said goodbye then. The hysteria from some fans is a bit much. The amount of crying on social media from people desperate to say "one last goodbye" is ludicrous. I don't think anyone's criticising people for wanting tickets, it's just the melodramatic woe is me stuff that some people are going with that's being called out.I get the argument about going to an earlier game for the last memory. Mine turned out to be Palace at home. However, people shouldn't be criticised for desperately wanting tickets for Southampton. Everyone wants to be at the last ever game, self included.
Desperately wanting one is perfectly understandable. Talking about showing up to basically loiter around the ground and cause unnecessary chaos because they "want to say one last goodbye",or demanding that events be organised for them, because the pub just isn't enough, isn't. I'm sorry, but there's a whole host of ways they could say goodbye to Goodison without behaving like entitled kopites.I get the argument about going to an earlier game for the last memory. Exactly mate, which is exactly why I plan on parachuting onto the pitch after 2 minutes then legging it into the street end to watch the gameDesperately wanting one is perfectly understandable. Ɓe interesting to see actual tickets for sale at BMD.I remember it being an issue with lads selling their RS or United ticket for big money, which covered their season ticket price. When folks are up in arms about the club not making a huge number of new season tickets available in BMD, its because this will happen down there.
