That's it, people who've been going the match to support Everton regularly for years will be sound. Those who've jumped on the bandwagon because it's the last season will struggle.
What bandwagon? Our issue is that Everton are a club run by morons and sold ridiculous amount of season tickets to people who jumped on bandwagon in 2016, so fans who aren't season ticket holders struggle to get tickets. My issue is Everton conning people with a membership and creating system that touts have exploited. In the past membership was cheaper and guaranteed you a ticket, now it doesn't. If fans had to box office and provide ID and all printed tickets had name on and stewards checked it, Everton wouldn't have had to make all these announcements about touting. Creating system that allows touts with no history of purchasing tickets from Everton, to purchase memberships, then buy and tout tickets. I can't complain about not getting ticket for last game, I gave up my season tickets 10 years ago, before Moshiri came in. But those who have been to 13 home games and are going to miss out I feel sorry for them.

Surely if people can't get a ticket but want to be round the ground they'd rather just watch it in a pub near goodison?

Why would anyone want to go to a park or the new stadium to watch it?
New stadium your right, however watching game in packed pub in what could be hot weather isn't appealing.

That's just a choice you make though isn't it? If you want to go to the ground on the day then let's have it right it's not some sort of sacred pilgrimage, you're just going for the buzz and the atmosphere. If that's what you're after then surely you can watch it in a pub, and if you think it's not appealing to do that then you can watch it at home/in a pub away from the ground or whatever.

No mate, don't agree with this.

It is a sacred pilgrimage. If we were relegated I would would still go to Goodison, it's a last goodbye. It's a journey we've all walked with memories of glorious days with loved ones.

To say it's just for a buzz is disrespectful of those who can't get a ticket. We all want to be there. I've not got a season ticket or enough games this year, but through time I've ridden the highs and the lows and suffered and celebrated in the Grand Old Lady.

As for where I watch the game, I would love to be surrounded by the rest who make the pilgrimage. Not just 50 or so in a boozer or a handful in my living room like you suggest. I want to be with the rest of the blues who have made a journey and if that's in a park with thousands around me, a stones throw from Goodison, it will be a fitting tribute.

Oh come off it. Vomit inducing kopite stuff this. If you wanted to go to Goodison one last time as a ‘sacred pilgrimage’ you could go today or tomorrow or the day after the Southampton game or whenever, but you want to go on the day of the game ‘to be with the rest of blues’ because…you’re going for the buzz and the atmosphere. It’s not a criticism, I get it, but let’s just be honest about what it is. My point is just that you can’t expect the club or the council or whoever to actually encourage or pay for this type of thing, when there are already options open to you. There are dozens of pubs round Goodison you can go to - ‘it might be a bit warm though’ is a seriously entitled way of looking at it.
