2024/25 David Moyes

Well, no.

Because we've then had a overhaul of the squad.

And the shortlist to replace him, isn't then available.

If we start the season under Moyes, we should finish it. There's absolutely sod all to learn from him based on a handful of games. Nothing.
I agree mate, but im not somebody who has invested hundreds of millions of pounds, I have the luxury of waiting and seeing.

We don't have multiple chances of this summer.

It seems lost on a lot of fans how big this summer is.
Not me, but, I think every Summer is important to this club, it shapes the next 9 months and in some cases, the next 9 years, but, thats every summer.

I know what you mean tho, huge churn squad wise, a fresh slate, to some degree, a very expensive fresh slate, a new Stadium, increased revenue, the perfect reset.

so doesn’t it make sense to let moyes have/start the task of a fresh new dawn

What’s the point in signing players for years down the road? You sign people to raise the standards now and then add to it.

How many teams actually do well “signing players for the future,” a future that does not come.

Nigel Martyn was old, but he helped raise the standards at the club. You want people that will make the team better so we can get into Europe and attract better players.

Young promising players want to sign for the best teams.

Hahaha, I get it. If the club decides to just gain true stability with Moyes. I will still pull for them every game. I just feel we know where it ends with Moyes. I’d accept a little more instability for more upside as I believe we will be in a much better position with the stadium and new owners that relegation won’t be as big a worry.

All opinions of course
We do do we? You sound like the West Ham fans who all complained when Moyes got appointed after they “chased the dream” with Pellegrini.

I'd be shocked if Moyes left at the end of the season.

It's one chapter closed and another begins with the summer transfer window and start of next season.

A lot depends on how much is spent and how the squad looks by the end of August but surely they'll look to invest where it's badly needed.

If that's the case then any failure from Moyes will have consequences. It would either be he does not get enough out of better players or the players signed are not good enough. Either way he is going to be answerable.

I don't expect all our problems to disappear within a single window but I do expect some level of ambition to be shown both on and off the pitch, and a big dent made in the process of sorting us out and making us look a decent outfit. Some allowance will have to be made for new players settling in and playing with other new players. But that's the job.

It's nearly time to get on with it.
