New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Spurs stadium was primarily designed for association football. The moving pitch is what gives it the flexibility, this does not in any way impair its performance as a football stadium. The lower American football surface making it better for that sport than any other UK stadium, by allowing for the large number of standing personnel on the sidelines for those events.

To me the pitch situation at BMD will be a barometer just how much the Friedkin's actually want to push us on.

If we go all out with a Madrid type solution where the pitch retracts underneath, allowing a quick turnaround for concerts and possible other sporting events, then in theory we should be going places.

A solution like the Principality where the pitch is sat on pallets that can be taken away, giving a solid floor for other events would indicate at least they are trying to maximise revenue. Albeit with a balanced view to how much investment takes place to do so.

If they leave it how it is, then basically it's more of the same that was given to us under Bill.

I understand that some people are disappointed with the new stadium. Personally I think it’s bloody amazing and it’s a massive upgrade over Goodison. Anybody saying otherwise is lying to themselves.

Yes, there are some early challenges, and that’s to be expected with a project of this scale. But we should not overlook the significance of what has been achieved. Everton now has a strong presence in an area that is only beginning its journey of redevelopment.

Securing that footprint was essential, not just for the future of the club, but for the growth of the city itself. In time, I believe many will come to realise this isn’t just about the stadium, it’s about the club being part of something that will drive it forward. Years from now nobody will be regretting this.

That's not true. I've always been unconvinced by the stadium transportation situation. Almost a decade of viewing it that way - though I must confess I never banged on about it every day either.

What did change was my view that the stadium would ever be built...but then again, seeing is believing...not a bad stance to take up considering the utter calamity of THREE previous stadium schemes.

….and you love the wall now.

spuds' big toilet shaped fun drome was purposely designed as a multi sport facility, making it less than ideal for togger but great for the other events. BMD has been designed as a footy stadium that can do a bit on the side, so the footy bit will be brilliant, the other stuff will be an adaption to get in and not quite as good.

I'm good with that.
Nelson Dock could well be are bit that does the other

Some people are just miserable for the sake of it, that’s why Everton has been the perfect club for them over the last 30-35 years. God knows what they’ll moan about if we ever became successful again.

On the train home, wall to wall kopites and day trippers.

Look at the kip of that stadium, defo not looking at that hahah”.

Major potential obstacle is the listed dock wall and cost of retro fitting something that can't simply be done during a summer break and would require the club to play elsewhere.

The dock wall starts quite a bit beyond the goal line, not that would be the end of the world if it didn't, seeing you could have it roll backwards and then descend. You are right that they would have a job to do it in the off season, but it's possible if you are away for the last few games of the season and first few of the next, it could be done, or at least done enough that there would be a surface to play on and allow the works to continue during the next summer.

Obviously the pallet method takes those issues away.

It's not an massive upgrade on Goodison. It's different. You can't compare them and it's trite to even attempt to.

It’s trite to compare our old football stadium with our new football stadium?

If we’re not allowed to do that, what on earth are we allowed to do?

Goodison has sentiment going for it - which I wouldn’t underplay or underestimate - but in every other way, Bramley-Moore is a massive upgrade.
