Nothing is soulless Davek. Only the perceiver. The Marvel film franchise could be viewed as commercial, schmaltzy Hollywood pap made purely for profit, but my two girls and I watched and enjoyed them together on numerous Friday and Saturday nights with chocolate and popcorn etc. over a period of three years and they mean something to us. Similarly with Everton, we’re rubbish but those two girls (12 and 9) who have been raised far away from Liverpool but who have been encouraged from an early age to support Everton by their Dad (who supported Everton as a youth because of his Dad and Grandad), their reaction when Tarko scored the equaliser was the most authentic thing you could ever see and as long some fans still have that connection I don’t care if most don’t.

There were lots of empty seats visible at the Etihad the other night. I think they will struggle to keep the expanded stadium full. It's all very well and good when you have an incredible team that's winning the league year in year out. When things aren't going swimmingly, a club like Man City will struggle to fill 60k+ with expensive ticket prices.

I think it’s simple. Winning things help keep the ground full, expensive tickets and no trophies. It’s going to be difficult to fill any ground week in week out.
