Nails it.

By 'it' I mean mindless violence with a ropey storyline or three thrown in.

Sounds a bit like a show made about you being punched in the heart by gangsters. Mindless violence and a ropey storyline.

Very much so.

A lad from the year above me in school had a part in it.

He also had a part in The Boy With The Transistor Radio, which was a another Willy Russell, who was mates with our drama teacher.

When they cast for the part of Damien Grant in Brookside, it was a straight shoot out between the lad who`d been in both of them and Simon O`Brien.

Been watching Yellowjackets. Really enjoyed the first season but it’s just got really stupid now and the tone is all over the place. Feels a bit like what happened to Lost which I stopped watching after the third series.

Really feels like they don’t know where they are going with it. Should have just done two series and wrapped it up there.

Yeah I watched Season 1, enjoyed it.

Season 2 - an absolute mess. But we slogged through it. Had some good parts but yeah it was going off the rails.

I assume you're into Season 3 now? We haven't started it yet. Would you say it continues on the path of narrative self destruction and I can swerve it?

It's a bit like Handmaid's Tale. Season 1 was the book, fine. Season 2 was pretty good but I hated the ending. Season 3 really starts to go off the rails. At some point in that season or the next one we just stopped watching it b/c it was so ridiculous

Yeah I watched the latest episode yesterday. I would say season 3 is even worse than 2 but I started watching it hoping it was the final season. But now I’ve read it might be renewed for a 4th which doesn’t fill me with hope. It just gets more stupid as it goes on and I find that I don’t care about any of the characters. I’m basically just watching to see how they end it. I’ll finish this season as there are only 3 episodes left but think i’ll leave the 4th if it happens.

I watched The Studio last night

Martin Scorsese, Steve Buscemi, Bryan Cranston, Paul Dano and Charlize Theron are all in the opening episode, plus Seth Rogan…

Found it quite enjoyable

Finished season 2 of severance. Did lose its way in the middle a bit, with that mad trip out etc but the ending is WILD.

After an unimpressive start I stuck with ‘the City is ours’ and thought it improved with a decent plot. Better than I thought it would be.

Hated those two shows ....

This city is ours. It's very hammy but enjoying it. Struggling with some of the accents

Hated those two shows ....

They appealed to people from outside Liverpool, where as it made us cringe, as the lazy stereotypes were just horrendous.
