Sandhills station

Player Valuation: £6m
Those who went tonight, what's your thoughts? Used it myself, the train was overcrowded. The council, Merseyrail and the club needs to seriously look at it addressing the issues. I know a test event's purpose it to highlights issues like this, but something needs to be done. The train I got on was already busy before it pulled into the station.

They could have put a boat or a ferry on to take people into town. I’ve no idea why anyone would think one single station (a the fans, the club, or the council) could handle this. It’s a limitation of the location.

I dont use Sandhills, but hopefully that is the only issue from tonights event. Im sure they will look to improve it for the next event.

They attempted to run their standard evening service which is a train every 30 mins per line. They didn’t even double up the 4 car trains either.

Do the same again in March with 2.5x the footfall and it will be negligence.

with everything public, it will only change, when enough local people blast the council.

As a dane, my thought is it'll take a years time. Hope you lot, do this stuff better than us. :D

You can't just make a stadium appear and expect transport links. Should have given them a few years warning /s
The powers that be have had over 30 years warning that we were going to move to a new stadium, its just we kept changing or plans so often that they probably decided to wait till we actually built it before committing to investing in transport links.

That station goes down , train failure, (merseyrail are suffering a lot of those at the moment) signals going down, ect what is the alternative?
No bus major routes near the stadium, parking restrictions all around the area. And not a great amount of parking available.
Looks like the planning was, oh well this works for the grand national it will do here put a few barriers up that's sound.
Looks like some car hating bell has just thought everyone can have a nice long 🚶‍♂️
