Mentioned in another thread... it was only a few weeks ago we were looking at this derby as having the potential to hand them the title and relegate us if they won.

I'm now looking at it as an opportunity for us to almost guarantee our survival and fully derailing their title challenge.

If ever there was a time for the universe to pull off the ultimate anti-"Everton that" moment, it's now. Cost them the title, Send Klopp out on his rear, and almost assure safety.... I would be able to stop complaining about life for at least a few hours.

If this happens I would be celebrating for months.

Pressure should be all on them. I don't think this game will have much impact on us staying up. It will however make it really difficult for them to win the league if they slip up. One thing I will give them credit for is that they normally handle these sort of games well and come out firing so we need to keep it tight early on. We are a hard watch and can't string a couple of passes together most games so I can't see us winning at all. A draw would be a great result.

Mate it's not the odd draw, is it not 9 of the last 11. There are signs they are not firing on all cylinders last couple of weeks.

I think we'll get beat too but to suggest Goodison is an easy fixture for them is wrong.

Looking for a glimmer of hope. They do seem to concede a lot of goals in the first 30 mins this season.
Maybe a fluky setpiece goal from us followed by a back to the wall performance.

True but that's been the case when we've been getting the odd draw. We competed at Anfield till the refs decided not to do their jobs.

Like I say, I would suggest Liverpool will win but who knows.

Feel strangely relaxed about tonight and I’m normally a bag of nerves for derbies.

As long as we don’t get hammered and keep our goal difference advantage over the teams below us then we’re still a in a very good position to survive.

One win will seal it I think. If we got it tonight and in the process knackered their title hopes then that would be glorious. But it’s not the end of the world if we don’t.

Gutted that I’m thinking this way about a derby but sadly we are where we are.
