News of Ex Players

All this "I didn't get to say goodbye" from ex-players, no matter who they are, is really embarrassing. They've been paid millions year on year to kick a ball around, that's enough thanks if you ask me.

If they want to have a private moment with the staff, then ask the club if you can come into the training ground one day during the summer and say your thank yous in person, surely they'd say yes to that. Instead so many choose to the media and start whining. Cringe.
I dunno man, the club captain and 12 year club servant getting short shrift like that is very poor.
Like he said, it'd be one thing if thats the way it was with every player, but it wasn't.
I thought this was the one thing the old chairman was supposed to excel at.

I get why Jags is a bit salty about it, seems a little cold considering the career he had at Everton. The worst by far was Osman and Hibbert finding out on the club website that their contracts were not being renewed

I understand the sentiment and why they would be cheesed off.
The thing is it is a business/ job. I see a lot of colleagues who do 20+ years in their job and are gutted to leave. Even more so when their company does nothing really. All the celebration comes from their colleagues and the effort they make. That's life unfortunately

Right, but if a business deems someone worthy of a senior management position, I presume they give them a decent send off on the off chance they become very successful in their future, and the business wants to bring them back in some capacity.

Missed one
Rooney - now looks 50yrs old (but we love him for winding up Carragher)
He's been boozing out of that cursed chalice at the end of 'last crusade'. He'll be 39 this October. There's prisoners that've worked hard time down the sulphur mines with a longer life expectancy, and he was shielded by professional athlete status for nearly twenty years. Incredible.

You can't escape genetics sometimes, unfortunately. He was always built like he was 8+ years older than he was.

Tend to agree it’s a bit poor of the hierarchy, however it does make me wonder how many times Jags agent/rep went knocking on the door for a rise when there was interest from elsewhere.
Might never have happened, but these relationships are generally a two way street.
Point is when you’re dealing with millions and millions of pounds sentimentality can fall by the wayside.
Regardless, one of either Kenwright or Brands should have shown a bit more empathy.
