Long ball where he’s a target man?? Nope

His strengths at Udinese came in playing in a 2, and running towards goals and using his pace and power. He wants to be in a foot race with the defender.

But not here, he’s bought to play in system whereby he’s isolated and is used to try and hold play up. The weakest part of his game.

It’s just poor scouting. And that’s on either Thelwell not knowing or understanding what Dyche wants, or Thelwell buying players because the data supports it

The same with Chermiti, Danjuma. These players simply don’t fit how the Dyche plays.

And Chermiti has wasted an entire year of his development here. Getting 5-10 minutes is absolutely horrific management from the entire club

Chermitti would probably have got more minutes if we weren't in a relegation scrap and the strikers were scoring (resting etc).

Beto wins most of his arial duals and he also presses from the front. His teamwork stats are also comparable to Dom's. Height from crosses, power, strength.

Hold up play may not be his "strength" but he's shown he's not alien to the job. He's also there to hound defenders. There's been plenty of times he's gotten behind the defence from long balls too

He definitely fits the style of play. Pretty much everyone said the same when he started. It's his accuracy in front of goal (an issue at Udinese) that's the issue and generally premier league quality. He's had chances. Golden ones.

Thats not how developing young players work. You don’t buy a lad whose played 16 professional career games and go “here you go, game time will sort you out”

Like every other youngster he’ll learn nothing by sitting on a bench, and then in 2 years he’ll be thrown into the first team as a starter, he won’t be ready and people will be calling him crap. The idea is to develop him and we haven’t. Another extremely poor bit of business with a lack of understanding on what to do with him.

In an ideal world he would have been sent straight back to Sporting, or to Germany, France for a year on loan to learn the game

And Beto obviously will win header because he’s 6’4”. Haaland would win headers up there and be able to do a job, but is it how he plays?? Nope; would it take anyway from his game? Yes

you have a centre forward who spent the majority of his time playing in a 2, in a team that played counter attacking football with balls down the channels and dump him into a long ball team where he is massively isolated.

It's his first season. Bedding into a skip fire of a club. Time is on his side where the goal is eventually sell him for twice as much as we bought him.

You don't think we play long ball, counter attack, work the channels football? It's exactly how we play (concede possession, go forward quick etc) Successfully is a different argument all together.

We can only sell Chetmiti if he develops, being dumped into a team that has no identity and no interest in attacking play, will do nothing but hamper his development.

With regards to our style of play; nope we do not play counter attacking football and never go down the channels. We hoof it to Dom (or Beto) in the hope Donkey Doucoure runs off him.

We have no pace, no overlapping fullbacks, no midfielders breaking the lines which is genuinely how counter attacking teams play.

Our game play is long ball, get a set piece and try to score from that. Its why we’ve scored 14 goals from open play in 32 games

The same way Dyche has played in over 400 games as a manager, 300 in the premier league

Im not an oracle on every financial detail. But Moshiri wants shut, hes doing one fella. If there are lots of rich arabs about to buy us then great? Id love that. But they are leaving it a bit late, if there are. If we carry on as we are with Moshiri/whoever getting bitty high interest loans to just keep us afloat but adding more concrete to our boots, then we will drown in it all. Everybody would love a super rich owner to take over us, but where are they?

You never know mate, WHEN we get safe, someone may come out of the shadows. Lets hope so eh buddy?

Not entirely true unless people switched off after the first 10 games of the season.

Wyness;

“I don’t necessarily think it’ll be a 777 takeover, but instead they may be part of a group that’s being formed to work out a solution.‘’
Thinking about this. I think there’s probably a fair amount of truth in this.
777 cannot raise the funds, none of the other lenders want to foreclose on their loans as they wouldn’t get all of their money back. So? Logical answer is that we end up with a 777, MSP, R&M mash up ownership structure. Maybe. It’s likely a terrible idea for the club on one level, but keeps the wolf from the door on he other hand.

I agree, yet there are people out there that think 777 will be good for Everton. Literally leaving us in limbo for 7 months and with no clue to playing budget next season so we can plan, no idea if we can offer new contracts to those ending and non playing staff leaving on a daily basis....

They are harming us right now, they don`t have the money, they know they don`t and they are scratching around trying to raise it by selling other clubs and whoring themselves around some big investment companies that will not touch them with a barge pole.

This seven months will have been wasted because 777 ultimately will not be taking over, I hope not aswell, what that does mean is that it is another 10-12 weeks for a new OADT to be carried out.

777 have put us here aided by Moshiri... what I don`t get is why other parties haven`t come forward, if they plan to buy the club and clear the external debt with their own money 777 will get chased out, all and sundry will aid that bid if it should become public.

What a state we are in... next year will be a relegation battle as well, mark my words. Have to sell, can`t give new contracts, 50% of the squad leaving in the summer and we can`t buy anyone. We might stay up this season but, as it stands, we will be where Sheff Utd are now unless we get a proper owner and complete restructure to the club and finances drastically improve.
Very surprising we've had no other offers
Long term PL team, loyal reliable fanbase, beautiful new stadium around the corner
Perfect club for a squillionaire with a vision

I can only assume that it is the exclusivity and they don`t want to come forward if 777 can close the deal.

But 777 are keeping us in limbo and it is damaging...

And @nsno-chris

Why is this in the 777 thread ???

Take the Chermiti chat elsewhere - it's OFF TOPIC in here !!!
