4th January 1969. Everton defender John Hurst, crashing in to Ipswich Town goalkeeper David Best during an FA Cup 3rd Round tie, at Goodison Park in a 2-1 win for the Blues -
I saw most rounds of the Everton Youth team youth cup run, in 1965 at Goodison the only home game I missed was the final just looked it was a Monday night - my older brother who kindly took me must have been working late on that Monday evening - doh who would have thought John Hurst and Jimmy Husband I would be watching 4 years later in the first team winning the Championship - they played great football with big gates for a youth team at Goodison Park -
L-R: Gerry Glover, Dennis Yeager, Tommy Roberts (left Everton in Feb. 1965), Aiden Maher, Dave Grant, Jimmy Husband, Frank D'Arcy, Alex Wallace, Dave Pearson, Eric Curwen.
