Hannibal Mejbri is set to decide on whether to join Everton from Manchester United in the January transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Speaking to GiveMeSport on Monday (8 January), the Italian journalist said the Tunisia international will take his time over whether to sign for the Toffees or make the move to Sevilla, with the Red Devils asking for his entire salary to be covered for a loan switch.

Everton are interested in Burnley midfielder Josh Brownhill, who Sean Dyche worked with for a long time at Turf Moor, and a loan move has been mooted. Manchester United youngster Hannibal Mejbri has also emerged as a temporary option in the middle of the park, with the Blues battling it out with Sevilla to get their man.

Talleres winger Ramon Sosa is a more unknown player who has been linked with a switch to Goodison Park, too, so the club certainly appear to be looking at adding some youth to their ranks.

According to a new update from Football Insider, Everton are interested in signing Blackburn Rovers youngster Adam Wharton, but Tottenham and Crystal Palace are also firmly in the mix, and Kevin Thelwell will need to act fast as the north London outfit are "stepping up" their interest.

Bob is back!! (not that you weren't posting in between transfer windows, but you know what I mean) - brilliant and thanks (once more) for doing these round-ups

Really is mantall time of year and social media brings out the worst.

I had an exchange on X with a Blue, he had enough of DCL and wanted us to replace him with....Gudmundsson....a 5ft8 left winger form Genoa.

No amount of stats, past history or any real info would change his mind...he had seen his goals, liked his name and was willing die on that hill.

Imagine us leading the line with an 5ft 8 winger lol

Now....he may be an option as an actual winger thoough!?!

There was something about an amount paid to support the club by 777 for ongoing costs, @Joey66 might have heard that. Don’t think it was 49 million though
The reliable Alan Myers and David Ornstein both report that 777 have pumped an extra £40m into the Toffees, with current owner Farhad Moshiri either unwilling or unable to bankroll the club any more.

You may be right as we are struggling to pay the wage bill allegedly -

Don’t know if the player or Villarreal have termination clauses, but if they don’t I don’t know why we’d be happy to weaken an already weak squad for what would be a pretty small saving. Dyche might not love him but you need a bench of some description.

Suppose it depends if we replace him with somebody permanent / more potential.

Optimistic i know.

He's also the only player we paid any money for this year - £3m to Villarreal. What a waste if he gets moved on. Have a feeling big trouble is on the horizon for this side tbh.
