January transfer window 2024

There won't even be a junior Sky reporter outside Goodison on deadline day,not even one who's desperate to wear his/her new boating style SKY issue shoes and identikit SKY blue shirt to justify their clothes allowance.
You are right they wouldnt be. They would be on the other side of the Mersy looking over at BMD because they are too scared.. lol

If Myers is right and 777 approval could be imminent it might slightly alter the January picture. Not expecting a big splurge or anything but unlike Moshiri they might at least be able to provide a bit of cash flow to get a deal or two done to boost the squad.

Not convinced they are the right owners long term but unblocking the cash flow issue in the short term would be a boost, especially if it can be done with time to spare in the window.

I like Howard, Neville was a better captain than he was player. Also he never identified with us, he was a manure boy through and through.
Neville was totally committed to Everton, sometimes especially against Man Utd. His tackle on Ronaldo at Goodison to get the crowd and team going in the second half springs to mind but especially the 4-4 at Old Trafford - when they went 4-2 up with not too long to go he is quoted at telling how one of their players said to him; "You can tell your boys to ease off now" which boiled his piss, he spread the word round the team and we went and scored 2 (including a brilliant equaliser from Pienaar). This result cost them the PL title. Then there's the penalty shoot-out win in the cup at Stamford Bridge - he loved it.

He made no secret he was Utd through and through and though and that's ok, every player has their team. Spot on he wasn't the best we've ever had but there was a reason he was made captain so soon despite others being there a lot longer and that was his committment to the cause.
