    Carabao Cup 2023/24

a bit surprised that we (villa) didn't get them.... had them in the 3rd round in this or the FA cup 3rd round the last 2 years

Match Thread Aston Villa v Everton - Preview, Match Report and MotM Poll

I imagine our(Villa)s' preperation will not include a starting player tearing his acl 24 hours before the game gets played again. I don't know if we will play with the famous high line as much now that Mings is out. Think Jaden Philogene gets a start as well

    Transfer Rumour Ashley Young

I think he probably ended up playing more as rb since Cash was injured a lot. Digne was decent last year but Young definitely edged him out on performances.

    Transfer Rumour Ashley Young

and yet he was our best full back by far last season Yeah, I would figure that -- there's a clear dearth of top-quality strikers around... many villa fans want to get an upgrade on Watkins which is crazy to me. I am not sure about you selling Simms, maybe Cannon comes into the fold this year...

    Transfer Rumour Ashley Young

genuinely baffled that we did not renew him. Was one of our best players last year. Can cover both full backs and played a few games in midfield for us last year. Top Quality bloke and would keep standards high. Probably would start 15/20 games for you guys this season

    Who should replace Frank Lampard?

I think the players. Him publicly throwing Mings under the bus was not a very popular move. Cost us the game last week. Now, McGinn and Ramsay in midfield is not going to be the type of midfield we need.

A lot will depend on the early stages of the game (first 15 minutes). If we (Villa) look poor / go behind, I would expect the crowd to start to turn toxic on the players and Gerrard. Who knows though

    Relegation 2022/23

I've seen that comparison several times on villatalk, and I also think that your situation is like Sunderland's. Terrible recruitment will eventually lead to circling the drain and ultimately relegation. And financially can't be backed (not 100% sure on the ownership stuff with you and if its...

    2021/22 Richarlison

Don’t think a Villa move makes sense 1. Despite what the table said this past season, we’re competitors for that ‘best of the rest’ spot 2. To Richarlison it is probably a sideways move and he wants CL 3. Doesn’t really make sense from a Villa pov, not a clear upgrade on what we have & it would...

    Confirmed Signing Anwar El Ghazi

Thought I'd post this from what I said yesterday: El Ghazi is a decent player. Loves cutting inside and shoots very much. From a Villa perspective, Gerrard usually has 2 #10s instead of traditional wingers, which Ghazi is more suited for. Think that's more why he is out of favor and likely for...

El Ghazi is a decent player. Loves cutting inside and shoots very much. From a Villa perspective, Gerrard usually has 2 #10s instead of traditional wingers, which Ghazi is more suited for. Think that's more why he is out of favor and likely for us to move on (I'd much rather keep him over...
