When we were more open we scored and they didn’t. So yes I really think the plan should have been to attempt to outgun them. Believe it or not we have the players to outgun them! Maybe not every time but it would have been a contest.
And the other thing is it’s absolutely nonsense to not be using good players off the bench much earlier when you have to score. Just nonsense to have the only attacking subs in the second half be with 5 minutes left.
You’re playing a team like them the keeper has to show up. He didn’t and it’s just a disappointment more than anything.

The physicality of these higher level games is too much for him. Athletically he’s not there, and technically/mentally he’s not to the level required to get away with it.
